Hey guys...my first post at ECF...been vaping and loving it for one month (and analog free since day one). I've been hanging around the forum getting tons of tips...what a great place! So, I decided it's time to contribute.

I found a way to not only extend the life of the polyfill but come up with an interesting flavor mix as well. I love coffee/espresso/cappuccino type flavors and have been DIY'ing and experimenting all along. I was trying different mixes and recipes...some okay...some too strong...some too weak, etc. I didn't want to waste my "failed experiments" though so I found a way to conserve.

And yes, I know I could have made tiny quantities and just dripped but I wanted to do "all day vapes" to really give the mixes a chance ya know? Anyway. I got myself a small syringe (actually it's an infants oral Motrin syringe you use to give the Motrin to babies but any similar syringe...3cc is also perfect size).

Take a pair of tweezers (to avoid getting the juice on your hands) and transfer the polyfill from the cartridge to the empty syringe...with plunger removed of course. Then put the plunger back in and push down to squeeze any remaining juice from the polyfill (into another clean container). Then you can put the tip of the syringe under running water with the polyfill still inside and work the plunger back and forth a few times. That cleans the polyfill nicely. You can use a straightened paper clip or whatever to then remove the polyfill from the syringe barrell...let it dry and voila! Good as new.

In the process of doing this and always putting the leftover juices in the same container I ended up with several mls of this "leftover" juice which was, of course a combination of all the different coffee recipe "experiments". I got brave and said what the hell, I wonder what it tastes like. WOW! It actually tastes better than any of the individual recipes I tried.

My wife (who got this whole vaping thing started--thank you baby!!) did the same thing with HER experiments --not coffee flavors in her case-- and had the same experience. Now both of us are kinda bummed when we run out of leftovers.

Your results may vary of course. I mix all my recipes at 24mg so the nic level is consistent in the leftover stuff too. We have eGo's so the polyfill size and the syringe barrell size is a near perfect match as well.

Just thought I'd pass it on and was wondering if anyone else had stumbled across the idea.

Nice tip for extracting fluid. To make the polyfill cleaning a little easier all you need to do is hold it with the tweezers under a slow stream of warm water from the faucet, just takes a second or two. Then get a paper towel, fold it around the polyfill and press, it's instantly dry and you're ready to use it again without waiting.

Yep, that works just as well for the cleaning process. I did that at first but noticed the polyfill wanted to start coming apart a little bit. The shape of the syringe barrel seems to keep it "in shape" a bit better. The paper towel thing is what I do also just didn't mention it above. Charmin super absorbent TP...or whatever it's called...works even better to do a "quick dry".

Congrats!

Thanks AJ for the tips! LOL i have several carts with different juices, no idea what they are because it's been 3 weeks since i last use them. Going too see what "special mix" they'll become.

I did that too. In anticipation of my daughter going into labor, I filled 3 cartos with juice and put them in a baggie in my hospital bag. I didn't mark them. I used all three at the hospital but didn't vape them until they were empty. Now a week later, I have no idea what is in them to top them off. I am afraid of a special mix. LOL
