anyone see Stossel last night? He had the guy from SmokeStik on talking about e-cigarettes. The show didn't focus on e-cigs but did feature vaping a few times throughout the hour. It was pretty cool. At the same time, I thought...jeez, I wish they'd focus on BETTER PVs, because that's what it took to get me to finally switch! I used a little baby-sized e-cig like those before and found them practically useless. I hope maybe he'll do another show on the VASTNESS of the industry since the first e-cig was introduced. The e-cigarette is a poster child for the unfettered free market.

The biggest advantages to the cig-shaped PV's are they are cheap and plentiful, LOOK like a cig (thus giving the current smokers something that is still 'normal' about vaping vs. cigs) and easily recognizable as something that is SMOKED...

The problems, well, they are legendary - crappy battery life, poor atty performance, them :censored: carts - and that those in this strictly to make a quick buck and fleece the sheep have a perfect product to do so with - you gotta have replacements up the wazoo for them to kinda work for you, so you've got a ready market for repeat buyers.

The best equipment out there (the eGo and comparables being the exception to the rule) are the specialty products that are produced by either hobbists or the mom & pop's...and will more than likely remain a little niche market.

WOW!! Quite impressed!
Wonder what SFW would think if they knew I was stealthing in the Capitol on Monday, surrounded by people & how no one took a second look at me....hee hee heee....

Thx for the heads up tweet on that the other night!
I was able to catch it on the 11pm re-run & WOW!!
I thought it was kind of cool how the 3 guys had them, looked at them like "what?" & puffed away like old pros! LOL

I had loved watching how all this has progressed in just a relatively short time. Build a better mouse trap.....

My crystal ball says if vaping is allowed to grow and flourish, eventually some of the big dogs will buy up the mom & pops & start mass producing. In my perfect little world, they will be readily available at any store that wishes to carry them....

Yea, but once the big boys start mass-producing the hobbiest's work, the quality goes down, the prices go down (or up, depending on how much was spent to acquire designs...) and it turns into just another piece of crap plastic on the market.

I'd much rather hold onto my original Prodigy V1 (If I can get the thing to work again), the V2, and, of course, my fisty.

Oh yeah! The hobbiest's will always be there; I meant to get the word out to the masses on availablilty & accessability. Us pro's will always know where to go to get the good stuff ;)

...sorry; that made me chuckle.....lol

Gotta forever keep Fisty!! That baby is a piece of love, sweat, tears and fits the hand sooooo:drool:

Did MlrMan ever get the parts to start making them? Or did the shiney ProVari seduce you away from the beaver-dreamed perfection that is the Fisty?

It was a combination of the shiney ProVari & that wascally beaver himself that seduced me! LOL
I figured if Mr. Fisty was even jumping on the ProVari wagon & singing their praises, who was I to argue:laugh:

So right now, I'm giving MlrMan a breather. BUT Senor Thomas ordered up a set of parts. Haven't heard if they've finally all arrived or not.....
