Yes, a question.

Lately I've been vaping my favorite tobacco juice. I like it, but I keep thinking to myself "what would this taste like with menthol in it?" It should be noted that as a smoker I didn't much care for menthols--well except for Salem Black Labels which got discontinued for some reason.

So I was wondering if there is a general pattern that those who didn't like smoking menthol tobacco products also tend to not like vaping menthol or do some people who didn't really smokeing menthol tobacco products do really like to vape menthol (even if its only a "when the mood strikes" sort of thing.

I do plan on going and tasting some menthol juices this weekend before I make any decisions. I imagine it is possible to also add menthol to some juices too--like fruit flavors.

I was a menthol smoker. I smoked a pack, pack and a half of Pall Mall Menthols for years. So when I started vaping, i went with menthol flavors. After a while, I had an epiphany that i was trying to replicate the sensation and harshness of those horrible pall malls, and it wasn't working. I needed to make the sensation and experience of vaping different entirely. So i veered off from Smooth Ice and NuPort and started vaping mostly fruits.

Well, next month will be my 1 year vapiversary and it's only within the past few months that I felt like I had distanced myself from cigarettes enough that I could appreciate menthol and tobacco flavors for their own sake, not as a continuation of my previous habit.

That said, if you weren't a menthol smoker, maybe it'll do the same for you, just opposite. Menthol goes nicely with candy fruit flavors.

Hi - I can't really answer your question, I smoked menthol cigarettes and never tried tobacco vapes, but if you like menthol juices there are a lot of options. There is menthol, which you can get and add to whatever you like, and vendors frequently mix it with flavors (often with the word 'Ice" or "Freeze" in the name); plus, mint flavors can be interesting. There is also a "flavoring' (in quotes because it's not a flavor per se) called "Koolada" that is a derivative of menthol that adds coolness without the menthol taste - it's kind of hard to describe. Some vendors call it "Cool Hit" or "Cold Shot" and can be added to any flavor you choose. You can also get it by itself with nic or w/o nic.

Well strangely I must admit that my "tobacco" vape doesn't taste like any tobacco I've ever smoked, and I've smoked a lot of different tobaccos (was a pipe smoker). I suppose it might come close to a very sweet Cavendish, or what one would think a Cavendish would taste like had they never smoked and went by jar odor alone.

That said I do like fruit flavors, blueberry flavoring being one of my favorites. Though it isn't a candy type, its closer to a blueberry compote or perhaps pie filling in flavor.

Well I don't know if I like menthol vapes or not. My plan is to go down to the local B&M and sample some of theirs and see if it might be something I want to explore. Since I usually cut my juice down from a 24mg to a 22-21mg (my math make me think its actually closer to 21.5 mg) I would probably want to take a 0mg menthol and use it to bring the nic down to the right level while also adding that element.

When you say that you didn't much care for menthol except one particular brand that was discontinued, you are answering your own question. It's the exact same thing with ejuice.

I was a 25 or more year non-menthol smoker and when I started vaping I went straight for the tobacco flavors, but one day years ago I was making a list of juices to order and I clicked on FLAVOLESS ALL VG menthol. It was my first try at vaping menthol and my first all VG juice and this is going back three years, most juice was pg back then.

When it arrived and I dripped a few drops on my atty and it BLEW MY HEAD OFF! But just like your story that juice is discontinued. It was called Herculean from Totally Wicked.

I always keep an eye open for flavorless menthol or flavorless in general and menthol drops. It's fantastic for lowering your nic levels, because you still get a good throat hit.

The only caveat is that some menthol tastes like a cough drop and may be very hard to clean from your equipment.

You might find "Cold Fusion" interesting. It's a Koolada base you can add menthol and other flavors to if you like. Arctic isn't a strong enough word. Cold Fusion - eLiquid - ECBlend

Peacepipe, perhaps I should be more clear, what I didn't like was the experience of smoking menthol cigarettes. They, well, they didn't taste to me like a cigarette should taste. Though I did like the cooling sensation of the menthol itself. I think whats on my mind is whether the menthol ruined the cigarette or the cigarette ruined the menthol.

If I find I do like to vape menthols (even if it is only when the mood strikes) I would likely use it as a nic lowering agent that has a flavor rather than as something by itself--though I may try it by itself.

I was more curious about whether or not the two types of cigarette smokers (menthol smokers and non-menthol smokers) remain separated should they switch or is there some blending together.

I smoked menthol cigarettes, but skipped the tobacco menthol vapes. I jumped straight into mints. For me, I think it was the coolness I liked, rather than the tobacco flavor.

I was a non-menthol smoker for most of my nearly 30 years of smoking (I did "flirt" with menthol cigs here and there in my teens, but basically, I was non-menthol). I DO like a little menthol in some of my vapes from time to time. I get Angel Tears from Rawr, and I add it to some flavors occasionally. It makes a nice switch-up, and with some fruit flavors, it really makes them sparkle!

Yes well given the steep learning curve, it helps to make notes along the way. I also keep a juice journal when I'm tasting juices. Mrs. Katz thinks its crazy, but the thing is I'm so open minded about juices I'll try anything once. Well except maybe that crab juice e-liquid.

Oh yes, the famous crab. They don't sell it anymore, which is kind of a shame since the challenge looked like fun. Have you seen Phil Busardo's review of it?

I'm writing that down in my notebook. Yes I keep a vaping journal. I'm weird I know.

I have a little notebook too. Just a flip top memo pad, that i wrote "plans for world domination" on the front of with sharpie. In a world where there's over 9000 different juices to try, it helps to keep notes of what you liked from which vendor, steep times, etc etc. And now that I'm doing DIY it's helpful to keep track of the formulas I'm trying.

I think a notebook is a good habit that more vapers should have.

I actually linked to his review. I think that is the only juice review of his I've seen where he described the juice as and I quote "putrid". I'm sort of in agreement with him. Why would someone intentionally sell a juice that everyone who reviews it says its is the most disgusting thing ever? It gets people talking.

But yes I will try just about anything once.

Since I sometimes take the notebook with me to work, I wrote "Meditations on the meaning of existence" on it. I have a feeling that "plans for world domination" might get taken too seriously by my co-workers.

Doink. i didn't realize that (obviously). There was something in the way I read your post that made me think it was a link to the "Crab Juice Challenge" that was held at a vape fest. It's a funny video too.
