Greetings again everyone. I just had a quick little thing to ask and I figured this would be the place to get an answer.

So yesterday I visited a brand new vape shop and it was definitely a great experience. Employees were extremely polite and knowledgeable about various vaping-related topics. So I showed my current setup (Aspire Nautilus Mini tank on a 1,000mAh Aspire CF VV+ battery) to one of the employees and said to him that all I really needed now was a battery with a much higher capacity than just 1,000mAh. He went over Variable Wattage with me so I understand it much better now. Then he showed me some box mods with built-in batteries (I don't really like the mechanical ones where the batteries come out anyway.) and explained to me that I don't need a 50w, 4,400mAh battery like the eLeaf iStick model I had looked at online since I only vape at about 4v with a 1.8 ohm coil, which equals out to less than 10w of output. He said that something more like an iTaste MVP 20w would be more than enough for me and also last much longer as it is a 2,600mAh battery.

Now he wasn't trying to just get me to buy something or anything like that, and I can tell since he didn't have the MVP 20w in stock yet and wasn't trying to substitute with any other battery. He said that he normally gets about $50.00 for the MVP 20w in his store when he has it. I mentioned that I saw a few online at various sites for about $30.00 to $35.00 and he said that I should just buy it online if it's that cheap because apparently this product is selling like crazy right now and he wouldn't have more in stock right away. I think it was a highly ethical thing to do for him to tell me to buy it online if he can't offer it cheaper and is out of stock on the item anyway.

So here's my question: Does his advice on me getting the MVP 20w instead of the iStick 50w make sense? As I previously stated, I usually have my mod set to 4v with a 1.8 ohm coil and I did the math to come up with about 8.89 watts as the output. From what I know so far, I think I'll still get a significantly greater amount of battery time with the MVP 20w. In fact, I already ordered the MVP 20w from mount baker Vapor last night. I figure that even if it's not exactly what I'm looking for, I'll just keep it as a spare. I know I'm definitely doing that with my current Aspire battery at some point.

Anyway, thanks in advance for anyone's advice on this. I really do appreciate this website, forum, and all of you great people on here for all that you guys do. Happy vaping, everyone.

The MVP 20 watt is a solid mod, good battery life, solid construction. The cons for MVP vs. the iStick 50 is the size, comfort in use and button size / position. Both will work well at the voltage and wattage you are using, the 'stick' would hold a charge longer. (the MVP may last you a day and a half or two, where the stick might be closer to 3-4 days without charging)

There is also an iStick 30 watt available that is much smaller than either of the mods you mention, it has about the same battery charge life as the MVP.

Thanks for the answer, Stosh. I am also aware of that 30w iStick you mentioned. I looked for one, but many places were out of stock. I will definitely keep the iStick in mind if the need arises in the future for one. Something kind of told me that I probably didn't need the 50w anyhow. I'm happy that I ordered the MVP and now I'm even more excited for when the mailman gets here in a few days with it.

I also researched into the MVP as much as I possibly could before even looking for where to buy one. I see what you mean on the location of the fire button. I can understand why that may be a turn-off for some, but I don't mind where the button is as long as I can reach it while using it. With regards to the size of the unit, that also isn't a problem as I only wanted two things from this new battery; longer life and shorter overall height for pocket carry. That aspire battery is so long that my drip tip pokes up and out of my pocket and I really don't feel like buying a new drip tip every other day after constantly losing them that way. :toast:
