Hi-After smoking 20 a day for 40 years I have finally had a whole week clear for the first time. Purchased a Ego c kit from TW and some Red & White tobacco flavour 26 mg Total cost= £35 against one weeks smoking cost = £50 What a result.

The little plastic cartridges that came with the kit seem to be a bit messy to change. What would be the logical and cheapest alternative ? I am getting through approx 2 ml per day .
If I understand correctly , most hardware will fit on my battery. (Tornado eGo-C Mega Twist 1000mAh battery)

I realise this has probably been answered a million times but got to get post count up.

Hi and welcome!

This is an illustration of the threading on your battery with some examples of devices that can be used on it. It's a bit outdated, since there are new clearomizers and tanks on the market almost everyday, but the most important part is knowing what the threads are called, so when you are looking for something to buy you will know where it fits.

thanks for that---looking into Vivi mini nova.

A Vivi Nova is a top coil clearo. I might suggest you also get a mini Protank, which is a bottom coil clearo, so you can compare the two systems. Also the Vivi has a plastic body, whereas the Protank has a glass body. Some juices have flavorings that can damage polycarbonate plastic, so it's nice to have at least one glass device should you want to try any "tank cracking" juices.

Blimey--its a minefield for the uninitiated

You'll catch on soon! I think a problem for new members isn't just the abbreviations and shorthand we speak in, but that the vernacular includes using words incorrectly and using the same words for different things. It also doesn't helps that new words and terms pop up as quickly as new devices on the market. :)

If your battery is not adjustable (voltage), be sure to get 1.8 ohm coils in whatever clearomizer you get. It will give you a much better vape than the higher ohm coils. I also prefer the BCC (bottom changeable coil) such as the Kanger protank, evod and T3's. Much easier to change the coil (and rebuild should you decide to go down the road at some point), and they're also cheaper than top coils. (The replaceable coils are cheaper.)

My advice is to take a look at all of the words that you see here when people make suggestions about what to use. Go to You Tube, and type in those words in the search bar there, and look for videos where they review the products that you are unfamiliar with.
For example, type Vivi Nova review, then look at several different reviews for this product. After watching three or four of them, you will have a much better understanding of that product.
That's how I learned most of what I know. If you see words that you don't know what they are or mean, there is a good chance someone has done a review of them on You Tube. For a new vapor, I found You Tube VERY helpful. Once you get a little more information, THEN this forum will help you MUCH more.
Good luck!

Welcome from across the "pond" tommac

Loads of things to learn about. This "hobby" has grown leaps and bounds in the past several years and is still changing every day with new devices (mods) coming out mainly from China. Do a lot of research and reading before you invest in anything like has been suggested before. You can end up spending a lot of cash and end up disappointed.

Best Wishes

Tommac- I started vaping back in Feb. of this year after smoking 20-25 analogs a day for 26 years & haven't had a smoke since. I found that no matter how much I read on these forums (there is a wealth of information here!) my best teacher was experimentation. I found things I liked & didn't like & like most here spent way more $ than I thought I would (but I'm still way ahead of what I would have spent on the stinkies!). I guess my point is there are not really wrong or right answers for everyone. But there are many people here who are willing to share what they know with us. Try different things and have fun doing it. And congrats on kicking the cigs!

lots of good info here . Seems that very few people use the cartridges. Looking at Mini Nova and Mini Kanger as I want something I can carry in my pocket without too much trouble plus I`m only getting through about 2ml per day max Off to Youtube it is then.

If you want something (cart) that is portable and will not leak, even though it's a tad big, try looking up one of these....Mega.jpg
It's a mega dual coil cartomizer. I am pretty sure AltSmoke: Your Online Electronic Cigarette Store - AltSmoke carries them.
