A Senior moment....or two...

So today I got in a new SL/LP Grand (REO #12) and a RM 9. I wrap two twisted 28 ga. 8 wrap coils and slap them on the RM 9. Check it on my Ohm meter and it comes out to .45 ohm. Put the Vector on the new REO and nothing. Hmmm.... that's odd. Oh wait, I just watched a video by Super X yesterday talking about the newfangled adjustable 510 connector. I back the connector off about 3/4 of a turn and nothing. Double hmmm...

What is a Reonaut do in this situation? Call Rob the mod master of course! Rob himself picks up on the second ring and in the voice of a patient father talking to his petulant child says that's easy, and asks me to adjust the 510 some more. I do and bingo it fires. He patiently answered a few other questions about the Vector and we were back in business.

Wick it, juice it and slap in a fresh battery and not thinking, take in a big lung hit only to spend the next minute coughing uncontrollably, only to hear my wife laughing in the other room. 18mg never hit near this hard on my trusty RM2! I immediately put in an order for some much lower nic juice since 18 is way too harsh now.

No, thank you Rob! I am kind of bummed the door doesn't slide up anymore, but don't let that stop your new prototype. I have just developed the habit of constantly sliding the door up with my thumb over and over to hear the door drop back down. I don't even know I am doing it half the time.

The only issue I am noticing with the Vector is that the slightest sideways pressure on the drip tip and the whole top cap comes off. That is not going to work when I put it in my pocket. I am wondering if this is normal?

The fix is either a slightly larger oring or what most do.. grab the dental floss. Cut a peice long enough to fit around the atty base. Remove the oring and carefully slip the oring over the floss to make it larger. Try double layer if needed but usually a single piece will be enough.

Or orings swell up under heat. Try soaking the oring In a glass of very hot water. Just thought of that haha.

I tried the floss under one of the O rings and then both. No real change at all. I can gently wiggle the drip tip side to side with my finger and the entire top cap just comes right off. Thanks for the idea though.

Agree. A custom JTT DT I bought over 2 years ago that would do for Halloween. By the time it got to me I decided I didn't like ming DT's, so never used it (or the other mings I bought).

I didn't even put 2 and 2 together about the Halloween colors until it arrived. It must have been my subconscious speaking to me. I already have a red Grand. If I ask the wife for a green one for Christmas she will probably shoot me!

Gorgeous Reo and amazing story. I'd probably have the same issue if I got a Reo with the new 510 in it. Time and time again, Rob proves his care for customers is above and beyond. Luckily I have never had a major problem. I'd probably text Russ (super_x_drifter) first, but I had one time of messaging rob asking about a blemished mod. Shortly after I had a Reo incoming from Maine to Alabama. I had to laugh about the 18mg part haha. My dad can actually vape at 35w or so with 18mg, he has to or he still craves a cigarette. I'm down to 4mg now though, so I wouldn't dare think about 18mg for myself.

I've been slacking on the forum, I didn't know them button covers were a thing available now. I need to go look on the site.

This REO is a blemish, but for the life of me I cannot find any blemishes at all. I have looked this thing over for quite a while and Rob must have better eyes than me, or a stratospheric quality level. Now that my coils are broken in, i am handling the 18mg just fine. I am kind of kicking myself for ordering lower mg, but I can always order higher down the road if it doesn't cut it. As for the button covers, I already had a few but I needed an orange one!
