Hey all. I'm Jon and I've been vaping for almost four months now. Its not my first stab at getting rid of analogs. My first uninformed foray at vaping was with blu. That lasted all of 6 months at something very unsatisfying before I picked up the old cancer sticks again. Fast forward a couple of years to September 2013 and I see a post on the book of faces by a buddy of mine saying how long he's been off the habit. I picked his brain and he suggested an ego vv with a protank 2 to start. I decided to pick up a kanger t3s instead. Started using it October 6. Lasted a few weeks before I wanted something more. Picked up an ismoka mega bcc. Around that time, the wife was looking at switching. I picked up a few more t3s' and another ismoka mega. Cracked those ismokas and grabbed a protank 2 (finally). Had the usual issues with them (gurgling, airy, blah blah blah). I went to my local b&m to grab another pt2 but they no longer sold them. So, I got a pt3 and gave the pt2 to the wife. Same gurgling issues and mouth full of juice after a couple of days. Surprisingly, she hasn't reported the issues I had. Go figure. Straight away, I ordered a davide bcc. Loving it but still want more. Ordered a couple aspire bdc conversions for the davide from discountvapers (they fit the pt2, btw) after several positive reviews including pbusardo's (oooooooh!!! Name drop!). That showed up in the mail today but I'm going to pop them in tomorrow morning. I'm now looking for an apv to replace my spinners and if I have a good experience with it, the wife is getting one as well. Obviously, I've been the test mule before she bites off on something different.

As I mentioned in another thread so as to not start a new one, I'm eyeballing the innokin svd, the smoktech sid or vamo v1-5. I'm leaning towards the svd based on reviews and what appears to be a better build quality than the others.

Okay. I lied. That wasn't very short. Sorry. I look forward to learning everything I can from all of you more experienced vapers.

Hey neighbor, welcome to ECF. You can certainly learn a lot here, and at the other site you mentioned. In fact, these two sites are the only ones I go to for info because I know I can find it. Lots of luck to you and your wife. I like using the Aspires on my ego type vv's so your wife would probably like them too.

Thanks for the welcome daleron. Feels good to breathe easier after nearly 20 years of analogs.

Boy, I sure remember that feeling. Nice, isn't it.

Hoping you do well with your Aspires. I've liked them quite a bit and I've been doing this vaping stuff for about 3 years. I'm "old school" and when I'm not using an Aspire I enjoy carto-tanks.

It sounds like you are doing some good research on apv's. Another popular one with a low price and a different format (square) is the MPV. If your wife would like something smaller......well, I like the Innokin VV3. It's about the same size at the spinners, but square and unique in that one can use vari volt or vari watts with it.

Welcome. Suggest you add the Sigelei V3/V5 to the list of possible APV's. My favorite, and I tried pretty much most of them last year.

From you description about chasing the vape (MORE), you would possibly like carto tanks. Vastly superior in taste and flavor to most clearos (unless you build you own coils [correctly]). I've moved on to Kayfun's and RDA's now, but enjoyed my carto tanks for many months and still use them when I'm out and about quite often. Big difference. If you must stay with clearo's, consider the new Nautilus. With air flow control, you won't have leaks and can control the draw and the juice. Very nice. Best. Happy vaping!

I'm also trying to figure out what's a good tank to buy lurking throughout the forum. Might want to go straight to a high end rebuildable and some of the youtube tutorials are very helpful as well. Currently using the Kanger PT2, and like you, I get the gurgling and juice popping up my mouth, which is a little disappointing since it's the first day of use.

Tearose, good suggestion on the smaller form factor for her. She seems to be enjoying her current setup and doesn't chase the vape like I do.

Bill, are you talking about the zmax apv's? I've been reading some good things on them but I've also read some negatives as well. Also, I really like my davide. Sure, it could use a tweak here or there but overall, it's pretty solid for me. I've been looking at adding the kanger aero tank base to it too get that adjustability but I'll see what kind of performance I get out of the aspire coil before I go that route. The threaded glass of the nautilus does concern me which is why I'm not looking at it as an option at the moment.

Aluren, check out the aero tank base. It is the same threading as the pt2 from other reviews I've read. From what I've seen on the aero tank reviews, there isn't much gurgling if any thanks to the air control. Take that with a grain of salt though as I haven't personally tried it.

XxxOoo, thanks for the welcome!
