Sitting down, facing forward.
I have to admit to "trolling" the Newbie forum trying to steer people away from those dual coil, low resistance, mega battery, mega tank "starter" recommendations. It irritates the heck out of me that "experts" seem to forget that they started out trying to stop cigarettes and needed something that looked like a cigarette, acted like a cigarette, quacked like a cigarette but wasn't a cigarette. I went off on a rant, early in my ECF days about that and managed to get a few laughs out of the rant, but the point was that beginners, myself included, don't need giant batteries and tanks but soemthing a little more "subtle". Jen put it very eloquently, I put it very ridiculously. Oh well, opinions are like a certain body part...we all have one.

I did think of a big advantage larger batteries have....it's hard to try to take a drag on the wrong end of an X2, the size is a dead give away (just tried taking a drag from the LED end of my 78mm)

but I agree if someone would have told me to do that to begin with i wouldn't have done it

If I had one complaint about the ECF, I would also say that the Newbie Forum is full of people who automatically go to variable speed, multi-rotational, 45000mah superbat with eye of newt juice with a .0005212 ratio of VG to PG or the automatic answer that rhymes with Shmego Fist.

After a month in, I still don't see myself going to anything more than what I have (which in my eyes is still a lot) because I am not a tinkerer by nature and I don't want anything to really mess with. I want to add juice (sauce :) and vape my face off. Solving problems starts with listening and the right answer isn't universal.

On the same token, the reason why I posted this here is because this specific forum is where I have actually been given the best answers.

I have friends that have the eGo Twist. They got it because it's VV and everyone needs VV but didn't have money for a Provari. Know what happened? They're all vaping from 3.4-4.0 Volts. Just twist to find where it tastes good and feels good.... and oh gee, 3.7 is right in the middle of the range they all end up in anyway. Yeah, there's people out there that just aren't satisfied unless they're up at 5 with a Provari, but the vast majority of people (especially new people coming from cigs), are going to be just fine with 3.7. The reason we all started was to get off the cigs anyway..... so as long as I have enough power to turn the liquid to vape, and some decent tasting liquid, I'm just fine.

Go for it even if you just use the X2 and Clearo at home. It is the best Vape you can get for the money. Some people don't like the attention a tank will get you out in public, me, I could care less because it works soooo good.

VV is just a waste of money, I have an ego one I got off craigs list for 15 bucks and I wouldn't even bother charging it for a 2nd time, what a joke!

So what kind of Blow Torch would you recommend? Acetylene or Plasma?:lol::lol:

Sorry Jen, Some days I just can't help it...

Hmmmm is there BTF? I might have to do some research first.

Exactly! If I'm trying to replace a cigarette, a Provari does not mimic the habit closely enough to not make me go running for a cigarette. I'm sure there are some newbs who could care less about the hand to mouth being close to cig size, but I wasn't one of them. I still catch myself cracking the window in the car to vape. I've gotten used to my bigger batteries and holding them differently than a cigarette, but it took some time to accept that I even wanted something bigger.

The 650 battery is maybe 1/2 inch longer than a 78mm battery. When you get the clearos, it's about the same diameter as the clearos. It took me about 1/2 a day with the 650s and clearos to get to the point where I prefer that to the 78mm... mainly because I get longer battery life, easy filling, and less chance of hitting the cut off when chain vaping on it.

I've learned to tinker just enough to work my Zen..... but took me a year to get to the point where screw it on and vape was more than I wanted to do. If it weren't for an auction to benefit a cancer patient, I would not own any mods. I have no plans to have any more. Well.... maybe another mini in Cobalt or if it comes out in Purple I'll NEED one.... but only because I usually buy everything in 2s. I have 2 auto 650mah X2s, 2 manuals, 8 78mms (I would use 4 per day), etc. etc. etc. Always have a full backup of what you use daily. 4 of my 78mms are a year old and the old style but they still work.

I would probably still be researching what to get if it hadn't been for MrOutlaw telling me to just take the plunge and go with what whatever.. I was debating between the Volt and something else, he highly recommended the Volt so I just went for it figuring if I waste $40 trying it and hate it, then it was money well spent trying to find a way to quit smoking. About 2 days after getting my order, I was out of analogues, and haven't had one since. There's been times I forgot my e-cig at home, and wanted a smoke, but as soon as I got outside and got a smell of the cigarettes being smoked, I instantly changed my mind and decided I'd rather go without than smoke one of those.

If only my wife wouldn't give me a hard time for vaping too much now hahaha ... She's fine with me vaping as much as I want, provided I go crazy with 0 nicotine juice... Always looking out for me! I'm coming up to my 2 month milestone pretty quick here, and have already gone down from 24mg to 18mg ... Hoping to be at 12mg by Christmas! :D

I just dropped from 12mg to 6. I feel not a bit of difference to be honest. The only difference is a little throat hit. Which is fine for me, because throat hit messes with my asthma.

I'm glad you took the plunge porkchops. That's the best advice I can give new folks.... get something! We all start somewhere and you can research this to death trying to figure out what's going to work for you. They all work, but you have to get something and then dial in what you like or don't like about it from there. You just have to try something, then come back and tell someone you want it hotter, cooler, more vapor, more or less throat hit, you're still craving nic..... and there's plenty of help to get to where you need to be, but without having a starting point, nobody can help.

I accidentally dropped actually. Placed my order with KBV and I usually order 12... I ended up ordering 2 bottles at 6 and one at 12. I was out of those favorite flavors, so loaded up the 6 and realized a few days later, that I'm fine. I still have some 12 laying around, but finding that a little harsh compared to 6. Plus, I think nicotine must be bitter because all my juices are sweeter.

I have a friend who now vapes 0 nic, and he adds a little Vodka to get throat hit when he's craving it. I may eventually go that route. I'm not convinced I'm as addicted to the nicotine as I am to the action of smoking (now vaping)..... I have mixed feelings. I have no issue with using nicotine. People use caffeine, why not nicotine. On the other hand, if I were to go 0 nic, I would be completely untouchable if the nannies ever manage to ban or restrict sales.

Sitting down, facing forward.
I started at 18mg, but dropped down to 12mg late last month. Never noticed a difference, although there are times when I never put the vape stick down. Maybe someday I'll drop to 6mg or even eventually eliminate nicotine completely. I don't object to using nicotine any more than I object to using caffine, I guess it's because cigarettes have given it a really bad rap. I may try DIY, keep thinking about it, and that'll let me set nicotine levels exactly where I want them, like 11, 10 ,9 ...... rather than the large steps that premixed forces us in to. I'll keep in mind that flavors will be enhanced once it's gon, too, that's a good thing!

He's sending me some 0 nic with Vodka, so I'll let you know how that goes. It really is more about the inhale, exhale, and the cloud for me. I was an an outdoor wedding over the weekend and ended up going inside to vape, cause my cloud was being blown away on the breeze. LOL

The flavor is phenomenal at 6. Much better with the bakery flavors. I now have 6 and some 8 from another vendor. I'm happier with it than I was at 12... and I don't think I'm vaping any more than I was. Although I don't think it's possible to vape more than I was either.

I was shocked that it really wasn't a big deal.... but it wasn't. No judgement on anyone that uses the 24 and over.... I just can't take the throat hit. I like it smooth which is why I landed at 12. I didn't even think to try lower, but glad I screwed up LOL. Now if I ever DIY, nic will last me forever.
