A strange twist if fate. or I feel bad

Being proud of my switch to vaping I was letting a few of my adult sons smoking friends try out my PV trying to drum up some converts lol.
Unbeknownst to me one of his friends had quit smoking beforehand. After a couple weeks I saw him smoking and asked him why he was'nt vaping yet. He then informed that he had quit but after trying my E-cig he liked it so much he started smoking again GAHHH!
Well that was unacceptable so I immediately went into the house dug out the old Blu kit and gave it to him after making him promise he would"nt smoke anymore.

I feel pretty bad about this I was trying to do the right thing but it backfired. All I can do is hope the Blu's can do the trick for him. I would have given him something better but being a fairly new vapor I dont have extra equpment just yet.

If He liked vaping so much,, why did He go back to the nasties? Good move on giving Him the Blu, hopefully that will be a nudge in the right direction.

Don't feel bad. Seems like he was looking for something to justify to himself smoking again. Just know that he will become a vaper but not until he is ready to become a vaper.

Quitting smoking is easy. I did it several times a day for 30 years.....

Staying quit...that's something else. Who knows if he really quit long term. And now he knows about e-cigs.

Besides...he could have said "No thanks, I quit".

Everyone is right. You are not responsible for verifying that a smoker is still a smoker. Like Atty said, he could have told you he quit. I agree also that he was looking for a reason to smoke. I've done that a million and one times.

I think the main reason i feel so bad is his wife just had a baby 10 days ago and he quit for his baby then I got him going again.

You did NOT get him going again. He did that all on his own. Helping people is a good thing but you are not the police of the world. Well, thats what I tell myself anyway. Who knows, maybe he will get back to vaping in his own way?

10 days out with a new baby? And he was hanging around other smokers? No, he didn't quit...he was just taking a VERY short hiatus before the inevitable happened. You did him a favor by informing him that there is an alternative.

I was smoking again 10 days after I had a baby! And I quit on ONE try during the pregnancy. That is super-motivation. But it didn't last.
Having the doc say "1/2 cigarette could kill your baby after the 4-month mark" -- on the dot of 4 months I easily quit cold-turkey. (This was not a normal pregnancy, we had reason to believe she'd have a severe shortage of red blood cells.)

So, 5 1/2 months off stinkys, then 5 years on, then 5 years off, then 20 years on, the same kid suggested "Mom, if you can't give up cigarettes, why not give up tar?" -- I'm 95% there. Had to take my banner down, but now I buy a pack per week instead of 9 packs per week. I have ZERO intention of cutting down from my current 30mg + WTA e-liquid.

Get the lad a cheap ego + easy delivery device (one that performs well and is easy to maintain and clean, maybe with an evod or I still recommend and trust the ego-t over ego-c or XL dual coil cartos) and some rocking juice and I bet he'll switch to vaping.

Not sure a Blue would cut it - never tried them but anything less than ego power wouldn't work for me.

Hill, don't feel bad. Back in '09 my sister in law got an ecig. She begged me to try it, and wouldn't. Had been chewing for a while, and feared the e cig would make want a real one. I really wish I would've given it a try, because this has been the first real quit success. Btw it was very nice of you to give him the blu. Those aren't exactly free.
