Nicotine Levels in Electronic Cigarettes

Results: The total level of nicotine in vapor generated by 20 series of 15 puffs varied from 0.5 to 15.4 mg. Most of the analyzed ECs effectively delivered nicotine during the first 150–180 puffs. On an average, 50%–60% of nicotine from a cartridge was vaporized.

I'm not surprised they found variations. When using cartridges that have a filler material, some of the liquid never gets vaporized. Using a drip method or a tank should deliver more nicotine per mL.

Other factors would have an influence as well.

I was disappointed that they only looked at the liquid and at vapor as it would be inhaled by a user. We need more studies about nicotine levels in the exhaled vapor. The Schriff study found a maximum of 7 mcg / m3 in three types of e-cigarettes tested. Does e-cigarette consumption cause passive vaping? [Indoor Air. 2012] - PubMed - NCBI

I could agree with this more Vocalek.

I believe the Only way we can achieve any Level of Reasonable Regulations is thru more Peer Reviewed Documents that show e-Cigarettes poses No Significant Risk to people who inhale Second Hand Vapor.

Exhale vapor tests ...
We have to prove the obvious ??

...

Not sure what the “Obvious” is?

But Yes, If you want to sit in some Elected Official’s Office and say that 2nd Hand Vapor poses No Significant Health Risk so Please don’t vote to Ban e-Cigs use, you had better have a Large Briefcase full of Peer Reviewed Documents to support your “Claim”.

Would go a Long Way also to sway Non-Elected Policy Makers also.

It seems that in this Fight, the Burden of Proof is on those who Claim that 2nd Hand Vapor is Not a Significant Health Risk verses those who Say Ban it because it is a Tobacco Product.

Not say’n it is Right or Wrong. Just the way it is.

I found this one today "But some see the advent of nicotine-based drugs as a potent stop-smoking tool. “There will be great progress when the nicotine sister drugs come to market,” said Ed Levin, a researcher at Duke University. “About half the cigarettes in this country are bought by people with psychiatric problems — high percentages of people with depression and schizophrenia smoke, for example. When we can give people their medicine in a form that doesn't kill them, it will be real progress.”

I really think some people should be actively sued for libel and slander. Now we're all psychotic and we desperately need BP to come in and rescue us with their dangerous controlled narcotic - nicotine - let's all do the"we're bananas" dance
