You bring up a good point but, there are also other tanks out there that are not made from polycarbonate such as Phiniac tanks. Which have a Pyrex glass tubing.

I like! Kind of pricey, but health comes first, especially lung health.

We are slowly taking precautions on nic juice, PG, and VG purity. Diacetyl and/or related diketones, (Diacetyl, Acetyl Propionyl and Acetoin) some flavorings might carry, and Li-Ion battery saftey, so it seems tank safety is another one to consider. I also wonder about the "stuffing" in cartos, but I'll save that for later.

Do agree that it's kind of pricey for a tank but, you get what you pay for in the end. Really like Phiniac tanks and all the different designs and types to choose from. Even have an option to get a custom tank as well which is great.

Anyways, I did do quite a bit of research on Diacetyl a little bit ago. Really did open my eyes when I started reading of all the dangers that are associated with it and other diketones. Seems like the biggest culprit was butter and vanilla custard type of flavors. I just started doing DIY e-liquid a few weeks ago. So, I know exactly what I put into my juices now and use a lot of organic ingredients.

The polyfill and cotton in cartos is something is something to look out for. Especially, when it gets burnt. So, as long as it is kept moist then there really isn't much to worry about. Oh, there is a thread about the whole subject as well:

Overall, I agree that there are a lot of things to watch out for when we vape. It's still unknown about the dangers of long term use from vaping. But, at least it's not as bad as when we all still smoked cigs.

Agreed...I also am a DIY'er, and at least some semblance of "control" can be exercised in creating ones own ejuices. Looking for flavorings without above mentioned ingredients, artificial flavors, colorings, alcohol and even using less than 20% of flavors and sweeteners cuts down on the possibility of problems later on. Of course, individually as DIY'ers, we make some concessions as to which ingredients we are willing to take some chances with, but it beats the "mystery juices" some/we subject ourselves to.

It would be nice if vendors listed ALL the ingredients in their potions. Trade secrets would still be safe without the ratios used being listed, as ejuice mixing is most probably an art. I think our health DEMANDS it. No logic in giving up on bad thing only to find out 25 years down the road vaping might be detrimental to our health.

Better the vendors head these issues off at the pass, than wait for "incrimental damage" to pile up.

I guess all this remains to be seen, but in the mean time, vapers should lookout for their own well being and press vendors to do some internal housekeeping.

Money talks BS walks. We have the power.

Exactly and that was one of things that sold me on the whole DIY thing. You should check out Wizard Lab and Nature's flavors. They both have organic products and so, you don't have to mess with artificial products anymore. Companies like FlavorArt actually lists which one of their flavors have Diacetyl in them. I avoid those like the plague LOL.

Do agree about those "mystery juices". Really don't know what they're putting in there and now, I don't have to worry about that no more. Although, I still do have some pre-mixed left in my stash. Using it when I'm waiting for some of mine to steep. Eventually, I wanna get to the point to where I have mixed enough bottles to where I don't even need those anymore.

E-juice is an art since it's not easy to come out with a great tasting juice. I'm still in the beginning of DIY but, I can already see that the ratios and percentages have to be exact. For something to taste great. Especially when it involves 2-5 different flavors.

Anyways, I know what your saying and agree but, there are a lot of people out there that disregard all this information. Maybe, they might not want to go and search for the answers. Honestly, there are other times where the correct information is in a particular thread. But, it's been clouded by contradicting information. So, it might make it hard to distinguish what is right and what is wrong.

Yeah, placed a large order from WL on Tuesday, the mailman just delivered them today. I usually go to ecigexpress for the FA's. They have a good selection and label the ones not suitable for vaping. I also use TFA as they also make vapers aware of the risks.

I agree. Sifting through the scattered threads, and contrary opinions can be quite discouraging to newcomers and "clueless" veterans as well, but our individual saftey should makes us seek out more info. Don't trust anyone's opinion but your own. Ask your vendors the hard questions, and do your own due-diligence.

Order a lot from ecigexpress too. Pretty much where I get a good amount of my sample sized flavorings. Plus, the shipping time can't be beat. But yeah, besides FA there isn't anyone else that's listing which one is dangerous. Capella's is good but, it's almost a guessing game. I just avoid all the flavors that usually have Diketones in them.

That's absolutely correct. If people were to do their own research and make up their own minds then yes, they will be able to avoid any products or practices that are deemed unsafe. Hopefully more people will take the time to actually utilize all the resources that this forum provides.

Definitely check out NaturesFlavors. They make some awesome stuff.
