Our company is so Demanding.
They preach hydration in the heat of Summer, to protect themselves. Then they removed all the iced water chest to avoid slowing production.
Now the water is kept in the lunch room which may only be entered during scheduled breaks.
Any action not maintaining or advancing production is considered stealing company time and grounds for separation.
vaping at work......here........not a good idea.

The owner of my shop tried to do something like that. But since it's often well over 100 degrees in our shop during the summer (nearly 130 sometimes), I told him we need to have quick and easy access to cold water, otherwise we'd have a lot of employees leaving the shop early either to go home for a cold shower or to the E.R. for heat stroke, and O.S.H.A. might have a little problem with those kinds of working conditions. Now we have two cold water dispensers and a big ol' cooler full of Gatorade on the floor. VICTORY! I've still never asked about vaping at work, though. I just do it. It's easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

All I can say is I hope the pay is really, really good.

I find the responses in this thread thought provoking. I own my company and have told the smokers that if they want to vape they can do it at their desk. No takers yet but it's really cool to hear more acceptance stories than forbidding.

The whole vaping scene has the feel of a revolutionary breakout of sorts in the workplace. Well, IF (and there's a ton of big IFs) a public study is done and the findings are in line with what we believe is the case irt indoor vapor risks. Smokers increase employers productivity costs. It's a known fact. If vaping is deemed safe indoors, many employers will immediately permit it. Capitalism at its finest.

my day job had a vaper working here last year, and no one ever said anything to him about it. so when i started vaping, i just told the owner what i was doing (didn't ask but i've been here long enough and we have a great father/daughter relationship) and no one has said anything to me about it. now that i'm off analogs, we have two remaining smokers. neither of them have asked me about vaping! on the other hand, all non-smokers have engaged me about it. odd...

as for my night/second job - i work for myself, so heck yes i can vape! :D

being able to work and vape all day long is probably the key to my success. i quit analogs completely when i started vaping, no sneaks or cheats or even an inkling to smoke. if i would not have been able to vape at work, i'd probably still be smoking cigarettes at least half the day.

The company I work for has two vapers, myself and a fellow engineer (he still smokes as well though). We both sit in our cubicles and vape away! Our VP of engineering knows and doesn't care... I've had a few smokers out in the shop ask me about it and they gave it some thought but none have switched. They are all fairly mesmerized when I bust out the Tesla!

I vape all day at my desk. My employer was happy and congratulatory when I made the switch. I even get compliments from co-workers on how pleasant it smells in my office now.

My experience was the exact opposite...when I started vaping, I vaped at my desk and in the lunch room--no one said anything. I even told the people in my office that if it bothered them, tell me and I would stop.

Fast forward a month and a half, and I get an email from my boss asking me not to vape anywhere in the office, as there was a complaint that "the vapor and odor are offensive".

Bleh.

Thus far, the company i work for hasn't allowed vaping anywhere indoors. :( Vapers still have to smoke in the outdoor smoking section. No worries though, a good 20 employees out of 100 vape, we'll change their minds eventually!

I don't really have any problem with employers not allowing it in the work space, for the same reason I have no problem with Nike not allowing smoking on their property, even outside. It's their property, and they can set the rules they want to, even if those rules are set in ignorance. Luckily, since vaping leaves nothing behind, I can sneak a puff here and there, and my employer is none the wiser.

my boss lets me vape inside the store where i work. i work in a food environment. she lets me vape wherever i want until the store opens. after that i have to vape in the back so no one gets the wrong impression. cool, fair enough, but just last week i was told i couldn't vape anymore at work. she never bothered to tell me why. so i finally asked after a few days. she said the smell annoyed her and told me i could still vape if i just got a new juice because that really sweet smell (grenada) was just making her ill. fair enough, so i did.

coincidentally one guy doesn't like any of the stuff i vape and it annoys him that i do it. yet he smokes and finds the time to ridicule me for vaping. he's just being ignorant.
