I've been in the chat room and I've seen abbreviations for websites/companies (example: BWB for Backwoods Brew, I think.) Maybe the most commonly used ones could be included in this thread (or wherever.)

By the way, I've been vaping for three weeks, and have reduced my analogs by 2/3 so far without any effort. Now with a little effort....

Yeah - when I started out, BWB specifically eluded me for a little bit as well :laugh:

I've just added an attempt at this here:

when I click on them, all I get is a question mark....

Be sure to NOT click. Just leave your mouse there a second or two once it turns into a question mark, and the definition will pop up right next to it. There could be something up with your browser too, but that's not likely unless you are using something years old.

My 'puter still won't do this, even if I just put the cursor over the abbr. and not click it...:-(

What browser are you using? (Try Help Menu->About) Make sure you leave the cursor there for a bit. Do you at least get the question mark upon hovering over the item? Can you try another browser? I don't know if this forum software changes the page that it renders based on your browser (somewhat likely - but I'm not up for looking at the source) but what I get is the acronym tag surrounding these. The only note I see about this tag is that these are not supported by IE 5.5 (Internet Explorer) or earlier. IE5.5 is antique by almost anyone's computing standards. The only way I can think you'd have that, is if you are on something earlier than Windows XP. If you are using something that only runs Win98 - you can get something on, say, craigslist.com (for about the price of a start-up e-cig kit) that will easily outrun your current computer and run a modern browser.

I always wanted to know what DIY ment.

DIY = Do It Yourself.

There are just too many abbreviations in use, aren't there? I mean, they're great if you hate typing - but then the reader has to know them. I hope that getting the abbreviations sorted out quickly and easily will help new vapers have an easier time jumping into the e-cig community and enjoying their vaping experience. There's a lot that can be learned to make that experience really enjoyable - even to the point of being a great hobby. For me, that keeps the old-fashioned smoke-makers away, and I couldn't be happier about that.
