About the eGo-C: Do people confuse CONDENSATION for Leaking?

Its my 3rd day with my brand new eGo-C. So far im loving it.
After i took out my tank for refilling for (about) the 3rd time, i noticed a little liquid inside the cone where the tank goes. I unscrewed the cone, and also found a tiny drop of liquid in the battery contact. Just a single, very little drop.

I tought "damn, people are right! these things do tend to leak juice every now and then".
But i took a closer look at the liquid in the cone, and saw that it was a lot more "watery" (less thick), and completely transparent. So i soaked it with the tip of a napkin, smelled it, touched it, and im pretty shure it is not juice leaking from anywhere, but just condensation. Just like the one you get in the outter channels of the tanks (the ones you inhale thru).

I wonder if many of the claims of "eeew! the eGo-C´s leak a lot!" are actually people mistaking consensation with leaking?

I seriously doubt it.

Please check back in a week or two with an update...

Some may, but I would imagine that others have experienced real leaking issues with both the cheap clones and the original (Joyetech) models. From what I've been reading, different types of setups work for different people, and I believe that's true with many things. I also have the eGo-C, and haven't experienced any leaking issues except having one of the original tank caps wear out on me. Even then, it was just a drop of juice and it was easily remedied.

You may find that the tank setup of the eGo-C works great for you, or you may not. If not, then there are a lot of other options to try. :D

I'm not intimately familiar with the eGo-C, but I think it could be possible, judging from how many people aren't aware of the extent to which condensation is involved with drip tip on a carto or, presumably, a tank/cartridge system.

I've read a lot of posts from people complaining about leaking in top section of a CE3 carto. If you look at what's happening, it's a tiny bit of juice that occasionally bubbles up from the center tube, mixed with a whole lot of condensation. I have a clear drip tip that made that fact perfectly clear (no pun intended). The amount of condensation inside the drip tip surprised me, and it has to go somewhere.

Im shure some claims of leaking might be real leaking, what i mean is that i bet there are some people who look inside the cone, see some liquid, and immediately asume its juice and so its "leaking", while in some cases its actually condensation.

Just in case, and based on the reading & research i did when i was waiting for my eGo-C to arrive, i have taken (and will continue to follow) the following precautions:

1.- suck/inhale slowly, ibe heard this is key with the Ego-tank systems, to avoid both burnt taste and leaking due to flooding the atti.

2.- I allways leave a little empty space when filling my tanks

3.- At nights, when im going to bed, i take off my tank (i dont leave it in thru the night).

4.- Every 2 or 3 hours, i hold the button for 2 or 3 seconds with the tank in, but without inhaling, to dry any flooding that might have starting to occur in the atti.

5.- When installing my tank, I allways make shure its properly seated in the cone, and give it a little twist.

Iffy: You bet. I will report back here in a few weeks and report if any leaking has occured.

These are key to any tank system. I had a 901t (tank) setup before I got the eGo-C, and never had any leaking issues with that one either. Battery issues, yes, but no leak issues. :D

I don't think there is anything on the market (yet) that would be considered completely fiddle-free. It's just a matter of which setup works best for you, and everyone is different. Some like the conveniences that a tank system provides, while others prefer carts, and still others prefer dripping. It's all good.
