I've spent the better part of the last 4 hours researching these e cigs. A friend of mine told me I should probably switch to one like his (I'm pretty sure it's the 401 or something?) which I tried but I just didn't get the same kick I normally get..

A little about me. I smoke newports. Anyone who smokes menthol know that once you go Newport you just really can't get the same taste and feeling. But I'm serious about quitting smoking and really feel that one of these e cigs is the way to do it. Since like most of you I love love love! the feeling of smoking, I just don't want to you.. well you know, Bleed from my longs.

After reading about a lot of these things you all seem like your really enjoy your Vapor king. I was just curious if any of you smoked heavily? And do you get the same great feeling?

Also this Steve character is apparently the second coming of Jesus from what all of you have to say about him haha.

-reaches for what he hopes is his last pack of smokes-

Oh hey Hi i'm chris and I am new :)

Hi Chris, and welcome! I just started vaping a few weeks ago. The first e-cig I had was the 510, which I didn't like because I was constantly having to fiddle with it --topping off, dripping, etc., etc. I don't want to have to work that hard for nicotine. lol! I just got the Vapor King about a week and a half ago, and I really, really love it. No fuss, no muss (unless you want to refill cartomizers, but even that is very simple). I was a VERY heavy smoker --sometimes over 2 packs a day. I still smoke, but now I'm down to about 5-6 cigarettes a day. I find that vaping satisfies me quite well, and I enjoy it more than smoking, truth be told. I'm just not *quite* ready to stop ALL cigs. I'm taking it one day at a time. :)

As for Steve, I can't say enough about him! He quite literally gives me the absolute best customer service that I have ever encountered. You'll love the service you get, and I'm pretty darn sure you'll love the VK.

Thanks Jl! I was wondering how long does each cartamizer last? Can I look around for the answer? Yes. But it just popped into my head :)

Could you recommend some flavors? Also, sorry, Being a heavy smoker how many boxes of cartamizers have you gone through since you started?

Hi Chris, and welcome!

I started the whole e-cig adventure with a 901 model. I won't slam it or anything, since I was successful at quitting smoking with it. You can see from my signature below that I haven't smoked for 28 days now. And yes, I was a heavy smoker - 2 packs/day for over 38 years. I had tried every possible way to quit including patches, gum, lozenges, hypnosis, therapy, and even acupuncture. Nothing worked for me until I tried an electronic cigarette (personal vaporizer).

But I just got sooooooo frustrated with all the maintenance involved: topping off, filling, dripping, dropping, juice in the mouth, cartridges barely lasting for more than 2 or 3 good drags, etc.

I've had my Vapor King for only a little over 48 hours now, and what a difference! The only maintenance is charging the battery. The cartomizers are meant to be disposable, but some people do refill them. I don't plan to do that, but I will keep my empty carts just in case we can no longer get them or if I run out of my favorite flavor. I have plenty of juices from my 901 days to keep me going for quite some time.

Yes, it seems that we all praise Steve here at the Vapor4Life subforum, but it's for good reason. His products are superior, and his customer service is the absolute best.

Feel free to post if you have any specific questions. And again, welcome to the ECF forum and our little corner of it here.

By the time I found this place, I had already spent hundreds of dollars on kits, batteries, atomizers, juices, etc. So I just started out with the PCC kit for around $40, plus a couple packs of cartomizers.

The V4L cartomizers have awesome flavor, and most of them I've tried so far have great throat hit. Vapor kind of varies, depending on the flavor. The tobacco and menthol flavors have lots of vapor and huge throat hits, IMO.

I'm not generally a menthol smoker myself, but lots of folks here have raved about the menthol flavor. Some prefer the mint and say it tastes more like real menthol. Steve has some new flavors coming up -- Newport is one of them. I'm not sure when it will be available.

I suggest that you start with the 24 mg since you're a heavy smoker. Most say the throat hit with the menthol 24mg will kick you on your ...., but I really think each person is different. It's easier to quit the cigs if you make sure you're getting enough nicotine to satisfy. Or order both the 24 mg for daytime and the 18 mg for evening vaping. There are some here that had to start with the 36 mg, though.

When I first started, someone had advised me to start at the medium strength of 18 mg. I did okay, but still had nic fits. Once I got the 24 mg, it was much easier to not smoke the cigarettes. The other thing to realize is that when you're vaping, the nicotine doesn't hit your bloodstream as fast. I found that if I could just wait a minute or two, the nicotine craving would subside.

How long a cartomizer lasts depends on how heavy you are vaping. If I'm working, a carto will last me 4-6 hours; if I'm chain-vaping, a couple of hours or so, but I do refill to save money. On the other hand, the novelty hasn't worn off yet on this thing, and I suspect that I won't be hitting it AS much once I get more used to it. As for flavors, I haven't hated anything I've tried, but my favorites so far are the coffee and the Doc Pepper. Also, what mg nic you need is very subjective. I smoked full-strength cigs heavily and 24mg is too much for me. 16mg-18mg is perfect for me. Hope that helps some! :)

I was able to put the analogs right down but as a result I'm pretty much chain vaping the 24mg. I'm feeling a bit over nic'd from time to time so just placed an order for some lower strengths. I was smoking well over 2 packs, nearly 3, by the time I found e cigarettes. I've had my VK for a few days only, smoked my last analog waiting for the mail the day it came. I was playing around with another model for about a week before that, down to about a half pack of analogs a day or less.
I've vaped in social settings with smokers, but wasn't tempted because those analogs just REEK, even after only a day off them. I never want my hair to smell like that again! I'm fond of my hair you see lol. I had no more analogs when the mail came that day and haven't bought any so it's been easier to not smoke, would involve a trip to the store! I think if they were here i'd light one from habit. I really truly don't miss them. I will not so much as walk across a room without a VK in hand, one goes everywhere with me and I hit it ALOT to keep a big old craving from building up. Maybe that's why I'm not just dying without an analog?
Please note, I'm the worst quitter EVER! Noone even wants me to anymore really because I just totally fall apart, massive flu symptoms, then depression and sleeplessness that never ends. With the VK I feel great and I'm happy!
So good luck, know that you might feel it's not going to feel as good as analogs right away, but you'll adjust fast to the different feel of the draw etc. Try try not to analog at the same time in my opinion, it's like keeping your Newports but trying to switch to Salems while still having a few Newports a day, you'd never start to love the Salems while having your fave to compare to as you go. IMHO that is.

I placed my first order based on the great community in this sub forum on Friday 10/2 and got the shipping notice on Saturday 10/3. The guys who run this operation are standing true to everything great thing mentioned. I also just realized I have Wed and Thurs off this week so I can really devote some time to enjoying the VK. I will update my experience when it all arrives.

Hahahah! Not to be sacreligious or anything (and I am a Christian), but in a way it is similar. He has saved us from Cigs! ;) I think most of us here have tried just about everything under the sun to quit smoking. I myself smoked a pack a day plus for more then half my life. Quit several times with several different methods but always always ALWAYS still craved the cigarettes. For the first time in my adult life, I can honestly say I do not want or even NEED a cigarette. That is almost a miracle to many of us.

Like many here, I started out with the penstyle kind of ecig that you can stumble on in smokeshops, fairs, the mall etc... It was crap and I essentially spent almost $200 on all the stuff. But it was worth it because I saw the possibilities and explored, and found this e-cig forum. Unfortunately, I listened to the 510 preachers and got that. Hundreds of dollars later, I found that I had actually quit cigs entirely, but was frustrated by inconsistant taste and throat hit. Not to mention all the dripping and topping off carts, burned out attys, conflicting information on how to maintain the 510 (boil the attys, soak them in vodka, soak them in coke, don't do anything but blow them out periodically, pluck the fibers under the bridge, DON'T pluck the fibers under the bridge! 8-o) Add to that all the suggestions to use the straw method, use the pyramid tea bag method, forget the cart just drip on the atty, use pillow batting from Wal Mart! Holy cow! I just want to pick up my ecig and use it! Not devote half my life to making it work!

Then I saw a post by Phoenix (I give her a hard time and visa versa but she knows I love her!) I decided to give VaporKing a try and the rest is history! Steve is amazing and it is like ordering from a very generous friend - he really cares! So yeah! Lots of us are very very enthusiastic about VK and V4L. ;)

I continued to smoke lightly (3-4 a day from a pack a day) after using the 510, but even with all the problems I had with it, after 2 weeks I was off cigs entirely. No effort, no urge to have a cig. Easy peasy. Of course if I hadn't found the VK I might have eventually gone back because the 510 was making me nuts! lol

I am not a menthol smoker, but I have heard that the transition to menthol is more like real smoking. Try the Mint and the Menthol and see which you prefer - and in a few weeks Steve will be getting M'boro, Nuport, and Kool - so even more options! (Lucky you!) But please give some of the other flavors a try too - I love the coffee and cappuccino and chocolate myself! ;) Also, the Ice Cream flavor is really minty with just a hint of vanilla. I would think menthol smokers would really enjoy it.

The Menthol tends to be a bit stronger, so you may want to ask Steve to vary your nic levels so you can see what suits you. (Maybe 11mg, 16mg, and 24mg in the Mint and Menthol)

I usually vape 1 1/2 cartos a day. When I refill them they don't last quite as long and I might vape 2 to 2 1/2 of the refilled ones. (This is probably more because I haven't perfected the refilling technique yet then anything else)

So there you have it! And welcome! Feel free to ask any questions that come to mind, we are a friendly and helpful group here! :)

I also just realized that they are located 15 minutes away from me. I want steve to delivery it to my doorstep!

Mark is out having surgery, but I know at least once that he met a customer at a bar and delivered the kit and gave a demonstration lol! Give Steve a call, not sure if they let people pick up but he is friendly and approachable, so you could certainly ask! ;)

And the Ultimate Ultimatum will give you everything you need to start! I love the PCC and it goes everywhere with me - you always have a battery charging and a few extra cartos with you in a nice compact case! The passthrough is outrageous! That is the kit I started with and do not regret it! Anxiously awaiting the PCC for the extra long batteries!

Met with steve this afternoon. Awesomely nice guy. I havn;t touched or even wanted a normal cig the intire day. That alone is surprising and worth it. I must of sounded like such a fiend because I was on my way to work and asked him if he could meet me at a local strip mall. Sure enough I found him and have now seen exactly why you all love him.

I'm am soooooo happy I found this site last night. Thank all of you for posting so much and giving me a novel's worth of information. :)

Welcome newcomers! As others have already said, you will not be disappointed. Been there, done that with the 510 exactly as JenJen has stated. Arghh!! The VK is a whole league onto itself and Steve ... well, yes ... Steve is also in a league of his own. This is one man who truly personifies the utmost in customer caring!! You will often read him saying that he wants to treat us the same way he would like to be treated and ... boy! Guaranteed that you will never be treated better than you will by him!! Not surprised that you met with him Cpyeah. He's that kind of guy.
Keep us posted on how you do. We love to hear the stories!!

My first e-cig. I'm so excited, I will be the first kid on the block to have one, i'm sure. I have been smoking for 30 years. I am getting sick and I may already be worse off than I even know, but 'God help me, if this helps me get to feeling better and thinking more clearly(lack of oxygen to the brain) it will be a miracle. I researched my choice for ... well days, and days. I finally decided on this one that you just twist on the flavor. It's not going to be as economical as filling/dripping atty's but I am hoping that the particular battery I purchased will be enterchangeable with the refillable type of carts. I couldn't wait to find out...I need this now. They better get busy producing my favorite flavor, however, because I couldn't get it on my first purchase. I was miffed about that. The assortment of flavors is huge and that makes it fun, I guess, if smoking can be considered fun. I will post my results as soon as I get it. Here's to hoping they will all switch to VG instead of PG in the near future.

Fear not - VG is coming soon. And the cartomizers are easily refillable! ;)
Watch the refilling video stickied at the top and familiarize yourself with it until your new toy arrives. After 2 weeks not smoking, I was feeling amazingly better! I think you will be thrilled with the VK and how you feel! And welcome! :D
