If anyone has proof these coils pose a serious risk of harm and/or are dangerous to our health why not just come out with the testing/proof versus contacting the largest reviewers to whisper rumors. As far as the reviewers go, why throw this rumor out there to the wild with nothing to back it up, what service do these reviewers think they are doing us?

Looks like the vendor (who insist on remaining nameless) has borrowed a play from the book of antivaping rhetoric, causing harm to this business with no proof, even if this turns out to be true, I have no respect for anyone who conducts serious business matters in this manner.
Well said! I don't fall or rumors and threats...

I could go on, but it would Derail the thread. What say, we give them time to Conclude Studies and release REAL INFORMATION as to what POTENTIAL problem exist, under what Condition.

Even PBusardo Said - Potential Problem and is waiting on further information.

Oooooohhhhhhhhh.
Well that's good news.
Any pics?

Too early to tell, but so far, maybe we're one step closer to the everlasting coil.

It's at home right now soaking in PGA, but I'll get some pics tomorrow. On a side note... if anyone has access to those little bottles that diabetic blood sugar test strips come in, they make excellent little bottles for soaking coils in. I also have some that are large enough to hold an RDA... even the Orchid V2 fits in them. Perfect for storing an atty or even soaking the whole atty (I like to do that with new purchases after a soap and water wash).

That's kinda what I was thinking too... soak it in PGA, brush it out with a pipe cleaner, boil it for 5-10 minutes, brush it out again, let it dry then give it another PGA soak (to displace any residual water), then dry it out and re-install... seems tedious, but most of it is hands-free maintenance...

what about dryburning; I know you can't see the coil metal, but maybe burn off carbon compounds in the ceramic, just as we can dryburn a coil on silica wick and see the wick turn white.

100%VG tried that on one of his coils... then he cut the coil housing apart later and noticed that the cotton had been burned (the coil is embedded in ceramic which is then wrapped with a layer of cotton to control leaking and promote even wicking to the ceramic). It is even mentioned in the user's guide that the coils should not be dryburned...

Tiny little Tupperware with a lid. I can fill with hot water and shake
I originally bought my shot glass at the drugstore along with a big bottle of 98% isopropyl alcohol, because I wanted to soak some tiny marine bronze valve parts off my boat before cleaning them. The dude in the drugstore looked at me and said "I hope those don't go together." I did a double-take-- I had never thought about it-- and laughed. I told him they did, but not the way he was thinking. I use PGA to soak vape parts, of course. :)

Yep, and if you look down inside that hollow in the ceramic, you'll see the edges of the coil. The coil is embedded, but not fully encased... if that makes sense...

I have some vodka...but honestly, since I started using rayon to wick, I usually just soak in hot water, or in plain water over night.

I guess I'm unclear as to how you can "slander" an object i.e. ceramic coil?

Sorry. I am not in favor of suppressing or concealing information that consumers should know about.

You want to talk about risk, that's where hammer meets nail.

Are you serious?? Actually, that would not be at all true with regard to product safety or legal liability of manufacturers.

I hope the ecig biz doesn't turn out to be as smarmy as Big Tobacco was.
I 'm feeling you however I can also understand their silence as well. Not arguing the point just acknowledging their point.

Just for educational purposes...lol...had to switch coils. Kanthal is soaking in vodka... Will rinse and let dry later.

Personally, I don't like to use Vodka... water content is too high. 190 proof Everclear is 95% pure grain alcohol... evaporates better/faster than water does. ;)

So I just did some preliminary research.. The company responsible for the coils assures their safety (they have some "legitimate-looking" MSDS fact sheet type thing online), but this company is located in Shenzhen, China. So I mean, take that for what you will.

Personally I'd stick to Kanthal. Ceramic, historically, has some issues at high temperatures. It pertains more to the claymaking world, but if the ceramic was sub-par (and coming from China, who knows)...

And a lovely quote:
