Hey folks, on thanksgiving a friend let me try a simple cig shaped unit. After reading up I have decided on some hardware and would love some feedback. Also a few questions.

mod: Puresmoker Prodigy v3.1 510 stainless 6v
Atty: joye510 Q1: hr regular or lr for best atty life? Brands?
Feed: SuperT Vapemate
Driptip: SuperT 510

Q2: What fluid seems most tobacco like for you? I am excited to try some new stuff but I want to start simple
with 30 or 60ml of some good baseline stuff.

Q3: How many attys should I order with the mod for getting started? I want to be able to get through a month of intro without ordering any other stuff.

Q4: Thoughts on the Puresmoker? I am concerned that they insist on using a home-brew switch instead of a sealed solution. I read lots of posts on their forums about care and feeding.. I like the aesthetics though!

I think thats about it!

Cool forum btw :toast:

I'm a newb and don't own a 510 or know about Puresmoker's diffs.

Attys - in general it is good to have 2 for sure, better to have 3. With 2 you can use one while the other soaks in alcohol overnight then sits on paper towel to dry out. I am not a super heavy vaper so I swap out every weekend - the one I've been using goes in the alcohol and the nice clean dry one gets primed with some juice and I use that one for the week. One I decided I liked the PV I bought a 3rd atty as a spare for when one wears out.

Juice - check out the sticky thread in new members forum about tobacco flavor. I think it starts out with someone saying you don't need or want tobacco flavor but then many of the comments are people mentioning tobacco-like liquids.

I think you'll have to try a number of liquids until you find what you like. it will depend on what brand you smoked. And obviously a pipe or cigar smoker is probably looking ofr something different from what a cigarette smoker looks for.
Some I have heard are cigarette-like...

Backwoods Brew "Virginia" and they also have a Maxboro I bought but haven't tried yet.

FreedomSmokeUSA American Spirit, Purecig, Max/Boro and if you like a sweeter tobacco many like their RY4

But there are a lot more vendors and a lot more favorites people have. And note - those ones above are hand mixed USA vendors so if anything tastes perfumey, let it sit overnight with the dropper tip popped off, away from kids and pets.

I like Backwoods Brew Casablanca which isn't particularly cigarette-like to me, but it's non-sweet, dry and smoky with a bit of cocoa.

I think the usual suggestion is to get 20-30ml to start while you order other juices to try. Note that the juices sold by some PV vendors are plain 100% PG base Chinese juices which can be a bit dry/harsh and make less vapor than PG/VG mixes. I think I ordered a 15ml bottle plus a couple of 5ml samples to start (one sample lower nic, one sample another flavor).

I don't own a Prodigy so no first hand knowledge there, but if you're going with 6 volts you do not want LR. You might consider getting batteries for both 3.7 and 6 volts. I started with a joye 510 and found the vapor very harsh for several days until I got used to it, and that's at 3.2 volts. After vaping for 3 or 4 weeks I was ready for more "hit" and went with a variable voltage mod. I like low to mid 4's as far as voltage goes now. 6 volts just seems a little high to start without any lower options. You may like it right off the bat, but it will also make it more critical to work out juice feed issues.

As a long time smoker... but analog free now. I found the coffee flavors seem to be prettysuitable. I have some tobacco/coffee's on the way but so far I have preferred the various coffee's over the tobacco's as they have all been kind of sweet. More like the smell of tobacco than the taste.

I should have a pretty good sampler of tobacco coming in tomorrow so I will let you know if these versions have a more accurate resemblance to analogs.

I can't comment on the Prodigy-I have never owned one. Here is a review you can read, I am sure there are more: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...american-quality-versatility.html#post1962341

If you are getting a 6v device you will need HR atomizers.

Getting 30 and 60 ml of an e-liquid you have never tried isn't the way to go. Purchase a few 5ml bottles of different types and different mg levels. You'll be happy you did!!

The SuperT line is wonderful. Might I suggest getting the contoured tip. They just feel as though they were made for their purpose. Very comfortable.

Since you will be vaping at 6v I will advise 4-6 atomizers. Some people blow the atomizers quickly at high voltage. If you are also going to be vaping at 3.7v get 4 regular res atomizers.
Perhaps add a LR or 2 for use when vaping 3.7v to find the feel for close to 5v vaping.

You can search youtube for some video clips and look here in the review section for more information.

Please take the time to read up on big battery usage and maintenance. It important to understand everything you can about using these batteries when stacking and charging.
Read a little here and then continue to search for more information.
