A bro of mine is an ecig aficionado and I tried out a couple of his mods. I want to get a supply of my own but I know 0% about ecigs and no amount of research would give me my own opinion. I don't have the money to invest in multiple mods to see which one I like most, but I can say I really like the Diamante because it's got an easy-to-use voltage potentiometer with LED display. I've found I like 5v with a 3ohm cartomizer best. I'm not a math wizard so I don't know how this translates to 1ohm or 1.5ohm cartomizers.

I've already got a buttload of juices to my cart (five 4oz doublers in custom flavors to my tasting), and at 80$ it's not bad or so I've heard. I want to keep everything under 250$ after taxes and shipping, so that leaves me maybe 120-130$ for a mod.

Any suggestions?

Hey Buddeh,

Welcome to the forums! I am going to put my vote in for a Silver Bullet. You can rock an 18650 at 3.7 volts and with a 2ohm-ish cartomizer and get similar results or you can rock 6V with a 3ohm+ cartomizer setup. The silver bullet is legendary for its reliability and cost. Here is a groovy two-part review:

You should check out my Diamante Thread too:

I will say just go big and get a ProVari. They are probably the most popular mod and very easy to use.

This is true too, but if you want to keep it below that cost for sure, it is a bit of a leap. In the long run though you will still save money and it will likely be the last Mod you'll ever need

Thanks, boyos. The SB looks really sleek and durable, so that is also an option. I just love the tube Provari-shaped mods, and not so much box mods. If I can get 5v/3ohm performance at 3.7v/2ohm, then I guess the need for a regulator is moot. The SB at 95$ leaves a lot of room for extra batteries and cartomizers.

While the Provari looks very nice and I hear it's the cream of the crop of ecigs, it's a little too out of my price-range. While I'm going to save a buttload by getting a mod/juices rather than buying 2 packs of smokes a day, I still feel 175$ is too much of an initial investment for a hobby I'm not entirely sure I'll be that invested in. I don't want to start with 10/10 because my perspective on ecigs would be skewed. I'd rather start with a 5/10 or 6/10 like the SB or Diamante.

Check out this flavour, Rob:

Welcome to Tasty Vapor

;)

Noice find, Monsiuer.

Makes sense, although I would consider the SB a 9/10 at least ;)

Then it's settled: I'll grab the SB the next time you make an order (hopefully Thursday), 24oz of juice, and other miscellanea I might need for my first ecig mod.

Thanks to all those who helped. I wish there was a feedback or thanks system so I could give you all +1 rep.
