Well, I really hate to do this...

We're not getting much interest or participation, thought we would.

So, I'm going to have to say that if we don't get at least 20 entries by midnight, July 23rd, I'm going to cancel the contest. If so, I'll try and come up with something that more people are interested in.

Really thought that with three prizes totaling $200, we would have seen lots of activity...

Keeping my fingers crossed... Invite your friends!

Rick
I will be entering! Just trying to come up with a killer idea.

+1 I will be entering as well

Here, there, everywhere!
Awww, c'mon Laura... it's really nice, but isn't that pushing the "photo" part of the contest a bit far?? :p
(and I know you can do better than that!!)

Heck... I could of just entered something like this that I had left over from another contest, said I took the pic of the Eagle, and slapped some words on it... LOL!!

I just posted this link in a Contest page on Facebook, and I really don't think he wants people to think this is just a 'Photoshop' contest... :(

(it makes me sorry I ever asked about 'shopping my pic, and I will withdraw it if necessary)

Just for the record it IS a picture I took at a truck show - I will post it when I get home. but I will withdraw my entry (I personally really like it)

I'm sorry... I never meant to imply that you didn't take the pic, or that I didn't like it... in fact it's almost TOO good... compared to what everyone else has been entering... LOL!!

Alright kids... as Sister Mary Elephant once said: Class, class... S H U T...U P ! ! ! ... thank you (anyone get the reference? It's old, I'm dating myself!)

OK, it's not a Photoshop contest, or a technical capability contest.

I'm looking for a visual and verbal description (a photo and some words if need be) of what your minds eye sees as your idea for the killer Patriotic vaping picture.

An out of focus, overexposed, attempted pic with an explanation of a killer idea would win the contest if it went up against a brilliantly executed image with exceptional Photoshop compositing of just a "run of the mill" idea.

It's the creativity of the idea - think of the pic as a much easier way to explain what you wanted. A pic with a few words saying what you hoped to get with the attempt is easier to understand than a 100 word paragraph explaining the same thing without a visual aid.

And SK- I thought your second entry was excellent - it was a better way of getting what you saw in your mind across to us than the first attempt-

You don't have to take the pics yourself. If you had the idea for a picture of the Space Shuttle deploying a Silver Bullet or Vamo to the Hubble Telescope, you would probably have to go find the pics to do it. And you wouldn't need anything like photoshop either - you could print out the different things, get some scissors, glue and such, and take a pic of what you put together on a poster board. Even if it looks like a first grade school science project, it's the idea that counts, not the execution.

Loving the really spirited conversations and ideas that are brewing here!

Did you really go for the red, white, blue theme when you put together the ego, tank and drip tip? Or did you happen to have some mismatched things in the right colors? I think it's pretty cool, I would never have thought of it.

The white battery has a little red panda on it, so I have been using this drip tip with it since I got it. But the blue atomizer was a happy accident. I had a black one on there but it got gunked up and I when I went to change it I just grabbed one out of the bowl without looking. And voila, patriotism. :)

 Whoo Hoo!
My supplier status just changed to Accessories Supplier from Offline Vendor up until now.

This means...

My website is up and running! Just got the OK from Misty to let everybody know. Also need to change my Sig pic, but I've been given the ability to make it clickable - and I did!

The website's pretty simple, actually. I built it over the last several days (learned I'm definitely NOT a web programmer!). I still have quite a bit of work to do (and learning) as it's not quite done yet. Go have a look and let me know what you think. For now, everything listed is going to be built to order - much like I do now.

I'll add another page in the coming weeks and months for holders I'll build for stock, and have available for immediate shipment.

Regards,

Rick

Very nice... now if you could just find some tiny white star stickers, tweezers and patience...

They do make them, you can find them as nail art at most places that sell things like nail polish and fake nails.

Thanks everyone! I'm excited and exhausted at the same time... I thought I might be able to handle building a simple website and it matches my business card graphics - black with green and grey text.

Thanks for the photog kudos - I just threw up what I could quickly find to see how the gallery works. Soon, I'll fill the gallery with various holder pics - as a matter of fact, I just got an email from a customer in Hong Kong who sent some photos of his holder with gear in it. I want to feature customer photos as well. I'll get it all done eventually!

I've been staying up waay too late playing with the website. It's slow going 'cause I'm not sure what I'm doing and seem to triple check everything... plus, there's lots of new tools and things I haven't used before... jeez, I'm such a nerd...

I can't believe how much work there is just between the photos and drawings that need prep work. I have a new found respect for those whom design websites - and mine is only as complex as the "drag and drop website builder" that is in my domain providers tools they make available. I have PayPal to thank for making their shopping cart code available (ha, ha, for PV stuff).

I'll keep adding more content and looking for features to add. Should be a fun journey.

Have Fun! :D
