I hadn't been going to enter as I don't own a camera and then I didn't know what to do the picture of if I borrowed a friends, thank you Morri, your picture got me to thinking about my dad, he was a lifer in the US Army. All I have left of him is some faded pictures and memories. He was patriotism to me.

I lost dad in 96 due to a heartattack. It was just a year after he had surgery to remove part of his lung due to lung cancer.

I used to have an old pic of my Dad in Greenland during the Korean War when he was just 20. I got misplaced during a move a few years back, I wish I still had it. Thank you for the remembrance Nancy, my dad passed away a few years ago from throat cancer.

hugs ........

It seems a sad trend that so many of us have lost our Dad's to the circumstances brought on by smoking. My father also died from lung cancer. He also served in Korea.

No worries Nancy- you didn't kill the thread - it has it's ups and downs - don't know if I mentioned it, but I lost my Dad to cancer (lung) as well in 1986 - damn cigarettes... and he was in the Navy - joined right after Pearl Harbor - he got ...... about it and joined when he was 17. Man, did he have some stories... even one that seemed to be paranormal in nature.

Yea my dad joined the navy first, spent 4 years in then went into the army where he spent the next 22 years. He spent over 2 full tours in Nam which he shouldn't have even been allowed into as he was an asthmatic. The army somehow missed it and if he went to the docs there for his meds they would have shipped him home. So he use to have my mom ship him asthma meds for the inhaler he had.

He had one of the first personal inhalers made, looked like a perfume bottle and made out of glass, he had a padded case he carried it in.

Okay I have procrastinated long enough. I am taking my picture today when I get home from chemo....or maybe I should take it before. Probably won't feel like it when I get home. *peels her lazy behind away from the computer*

Great to see you Charmed! Would love to see an entry from you.
