Ok so...

I get lost when people start talking about voltage and all the fancy details of electronics. So confused that I can't bring myself to type a proper post so bare with me, lol.

Anyways here is what I'm looking to do.

I'm looking to buy a USB passthru for my 510s.

I'm also looking for a way to plug it in, since I've heard nothing good about plugging it into your PC, plus my USB ports are all in use on it anyways. So... I figure I need myself a USB to AC adapter. So to cut to the chase and make things easier on myself I'll just simply ask if the two products I've found will work.

Here's the passthru I've found.
Joye 510 High Powered Passthru

Here's an adapter I've found.
Coby Dual USB Power AC Adapter - CA81 - Buy.com

If You could provide links to a cheaper adapter, or if the one I've found wont do the job, please don't be shy, post what WILL work.

I had to read cause i seen usb to av Audio video... LOL
notice you meant AC.
there is many out there but I suggest being at 2amp as some units can draw 1.5amps depending on the setup.

More amps the better. I am also looking at a usb hub for my system as All my usb's are tied up also.

Doh!

Not sure how to edit thread tittles, its been a long day lol.

Most computers can not provide the power an atty needs.

Yes, they all provide 5V, but only 500mA. An atty needs about 3.2 volts at 1,200 - 2,000 mA.

Imagine the volts are an engines RPM, and the mA are the horsepower.

5V = Higher "RPMs" than 3.2V, but 500mA of "Horsepower" just isnt enough Oomph versus the 1,200+mA of "Horsepower" the attys need to drive them.

Like a gearbox, Transformers can cut voltage to make more amps (Fewer revs out, but more torque) but thats a lesson for another day, LOL.

This is why most PTs have an inline battery. The battery stores up power when you'r not puffing (using) your atty, but injects its stored power into the atty along with the computers power when you puff. (almost like NOS on a car, but refilling itself when you're not using it)

The solution is to use a power supply that provides enough "Horsepower" (mA) to fully power the atty.

Now.. As per the links you posted: The Passthrough looks like it has no inline battery, so its going to draw heavy power, some computers may not like it, so an AC adapter like you looked up is a good idea.

The adapter you posted will work okay. Probably better than using the atty on a standard 510 battery, but you should find an ac adapter that can output 1.5A (1,500mA, same thing) or more.

Hope I didnt confuse you more there, chief, LOL..

Wow someone else who compares to cars. Good choice as its the easiest to use to describe.

And also I have found a few 2a adapters but 20-30 is not worth it.
And as I have said madvapes has them for 10bucks +|-

K all take it easy.

Thanks for the advice on Madvapes, I'd actually never been there and ended up ordering everything I was looking for there. (usb passthru, adapter and a handful of attys.
