I have both. And some SWEAR by the poldiac. I will give you MY opinion. The poldiac hits, and hits well.....very well. The GGTS does the same. Put brass in the GGTS and I still tend to prefer the GGTS over the Pol. Again. MY preference but its a close race. Just to me it doesnt stand way above as some say. The silver plated contacts are a plus in the Pol. And honestly it is a much easier mod to stick in a denim pocket that the GG. The GG with its side button is a little more cumbersome in a pair of jeans. So I see me using the Pol in 350/500 mode with my Ody for stealthy vaping. Then switch to my Ithaca when they arrive. That's pocket travel.
For home, ill still lean to brass pinned GGTS. Do I regret the Pol? Absolutely not!!!

awesome, thanks for your input, im sure I will not regret purchasing the poldiac but dont know if I want to shell out another $240 for the ggts. I own 2 provaris and a smokteck telescope and I want (1) really good mecahnical that will last me a long time and looks bad ..... I really appreciate your info yankee!!

I'll add this. My wife was a HUGE provari fan. So much so she had 6 at any given time. She finally followed me down the path of mechanical mods and now only has two provaris and they hardly get used. Be careful. You may follow the same path.

Funny story! I finally got my ac9 setup great today! It was tasting great, vapor was good. And thought the juice would taste better if it were a little mentholated. So I add a few menthol drops to the bottle, but my tank was full, so stupidly I threw a needle tip on my menthol drop bottle and tried to add 2 drops... Needle wasn't long enough and couldn't tell if the drops were going in and squeezed it a little. I squeezed way too much. Mistake #1, I could have dumped the juice there.

Then, I realized I couldn't shake in the tank, so I pulled out the juice and squeezed it into the bottle and mixed it. I put it back into the tank... And WOW! Mistake #2. It's sooo mentholated my clear sinuses just got clearer! So clear I can predict the future! I can't even taste any of the flavor that was once great already. I predict, this juice will visit the garbage soon.

does anyone have a pic of the ac9 atop of the Poldiac? I just ordered a Poldiac and the measurements seem like they are a perfect fit, maybe 1mm off as the ac9 bottom is 21mm and the poldiac I believe is 22mm. Does anyone have a pic?

haha, w/ the poldiac or caravela... I wouldnt worry too much about it, you can put a banana on top of them things and it will still look good.

Poldiac is 23mm like the GG and chi you, caravela, AC9 and just about everything else are 22mm

Couldn't agree more, just sat my ac9 atop the poldiac and damn does it look good... And the vapor/taste is outstanding... Rockin the 18350 mode now, a few turns of the top screw and the wick and button are aligned perfectly..

I just got my 100' 28 gauge kanthal a-1 wire! I'm going to start trying to practice wrapping coils! Next purchase is the mesh, but I'm not exactly sure what I should be looking for and where. Any suggestions?

Thanks, I was also wondering what the differences were for the 3 different sizes? I typically vape 50/50 juices if possible, but some recent liquids I don't really know the ratios. But I also heard that it also changes the throat hit.

throat hit is harder with the 325 and smooth's out the higher you go 500 is great for wicking and smooth throat hit but also is more fragile and breaks down faster 400 is a good in-between and should be great for 50 50 blends if your a high voltage vapor 1.1 ohm or below I would say 325 and a solid wick if you vape 50/50 blends at 1.1 ohms and above 400 or 500 should be fine for you all of this is just my opinion everyone has there own preferences and preferred setup.

I bought my Atmisque Hippo at: 405vapers.com (FYI its a bit fiddly to work with, I would wait for a revision with better machining tolerances or an adjustable center pin)

Sweet thanks for the info! What's the dimensions for a solid wick? I tried earlier, and went for 3" and it's kind of a thick straw.

I don't use dimensions so I would not be able to tell you I just kept sizing my wick till I got a good length that after I rolled it was solid then after I just eyeballed it from the length and size of the previous wick I know that is of no help to you but you just need to fing what works for you triel and error

Found this link in another thread, has wick sizes and a little discription. Pretty nifty! Even has a section to be able to upload your wick setup.
