You are probilly using temp controll idk... What happen was i switch my kanger mini tank out the the nautilus and forgot to lower watts
I had to rebuild today because yesterday I ran my .3 ohm tank at 90w by accident 
My dripper had a really low ohm build in it and I forgot to turn it down, it really sucked.

I was using a rda on my istick50 one night and the next morning put my nautilus mini on it, thought it said 5.0V...it really said 50W
oh and yesterday I forgot to twist the liquid control back to the open position, vaped fine for nearly 10 minutes till I got that, zomgaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hit

Yup, and it really does suck !!
But it's been a while. After a couple of experiences with 'the ultimate drag from hell' I learned to take a short initial primer puff when I change my setup. Pretty much reduces the chances of that happening to almost zero
I've only done a variation on that once and that was when I got my first iStick - eager to get going with it I charged it up, fitted an attie but somehow forgot the bit in the instructions about setting it - 20 strength juice at the full full power it therefore came on at would have been hair raising, if I had any hair left that is.
With my Triton tank also when it was new, after filling the coil had turned to its closed position and I didn't notice, or even know that could happen - new coil, dry hit - not recommended!

Only last week i got half a tank of liquid in my mouth, when priming a new coil in a subtank mini that had lost the bottom o-ring, by sucking it without firing and keeping the afc closed.
My subtank mini was always playing its little jokes on me. I must have lost at least 4 or 5 tanks after rebuilding the rba deck, priming, screwing on a full tank and going to take that first much anticipated first vape, only to realize I forgot to screw on the cap to the rba deck. whould get me every time.
When using a dripper, I have in a few distracted moments forgotten to replace the top cap resulting in several cases of verpes, vapors kiss. Coil shaped blisters on top and bottom lips........
How long did your Min last at 50 watts? Did it pop like a fuse or did it actually smoke?
I once removed my Freemax Starre tank which I had been running at 65W and put on my Nautilus and forgot to change the wattage before firing it.
THAT is a mistake you'll only make once.
Mine produced something, but I don't think it was vapor. It didn't pop the coil itself but the wick was burned beyond recognition. It was sort of like taking a draw from the exhaust manifold of a diesel engine that was running too rich.

I primed mine with one drop and now i dont prime mine inless its new coil if i do the coil will flood now that i know how to opperate the k mini i love it much better then my nautilus

That truck definitely will not pass a NYS Emissions Test even for a Diesel!
I get crackles at 12W and anything over 13.5 is just not pleasant to me. 37W is almost 3 X's the max suggested wattage from what I hear. 
I wish it would have just popped the coil like a fuse, first 1/4 second it tasted warm and good, then it all turned to brimstone and hellfire
Heck with just a low tank and a bad angle laying down watching the tube vaping I singed a coil. Never was the same.
