I'm considering ordering the Puresmoker Ace starter kit (or a couple 380 mAh Ace batteries). However...

I have had dismal experience with manual 801 and Kr8 batteries. Unlike either the 510 or the Prodigy V1, for example, the more recessed button has not engaged the the battery reliably and generally has performed poorly.

On one 801, the button got stuck inside the housing never to be accessible again. A BE112 passthrough I tried performed as if it were generating about 2V, i.e., terribly.

A logo-covered* XL 380 mAh Kr8 battery didn't engage reliably and seemed less powerful than my 280 mAh automatic batteries. A 280 mAh manual Kr8 died after three days.

* [NOTE: I am not talking about tasteful single-logos, e.g., those on the Ace.]

So you see why I am gun shy.

On the other hand, I love the 280 mAh Kr8 auto batteries and auto passthrough (3.7V inline battery style, not Puresmoker's 5V, which I don't own). I even use them with adapter for my penstyle attys. For whatever reason, they provide greater, more reliable power to the atty than the penstyle atty.

I would be very interested in learning what people's experience has been with the Ace manual batteries, either 280 mAh or 380 mAh.

Thanks!
