Anyone here have a history of acid indigestion? im not talking the occasional heartburn but really bad acid indigestion for longer than a day? 2 years ago i had a bout of it for 2 weeks, ended up in the ER cuz i didnt know what was going on. they put me on meds and it went down after adjusting my eating habits and taking protonix every day. but they said stay away from cigarettes and alcohol for a while. i havent had any issues for the past 2 years but recently its started again (5 days so far and still bothering me). i was concerned it was because of the nicotine so i stopped using my ecig as much, havent used it at all today but i was wondering if anyone here using one has problems with indigestion and know about its relation to nicotine?? any comments or concerns will be greatly appreciated :)

edit: or acid reflux, whatever they call it these days

Tough question, but you're the only one who can solve it, by the process of elimination. Since you had to adjust your eating, smoking, and alcohol habits last time this occurred, it might be wise to do that again -- adjusting each separately for a certain period, then noting the results.

I used to suffer tremendously when I was on analogs - often seemed like I was on a staple diet of antacids. Since switching to vaping, I very rarely seem to suffer - just occasionally, but that tends to be when I've eaten rich or spicy food, so for me, the vaping rather than smoking really seems to have helped (non of my other habits have changed).

hmm.. well i know its a combination of things and bad lifestyle. i am starting to adjust my eating/drinking habits. i have a bad habit of drinking too many carbonated/cafeinated energy drinks and sodas. cut that out today and starting a healthier diet as well, so hopefully it will go away. but to be sure i am also cutting out the ecig until i get it under control again. seems to be most people dont have a problem with nicotine but moreso analogs causing heartburn/reflux

Through some trial and error, I have found that I get indigestion when I use 36mg liquid. If I drop the mg down to 18-24mg it goes away. I like to vape 36mg in the morning, but find if I try to vape it all day, I end up with pretty bad indigestion that requires an rx med to get back to a normal state. As much as I enjoy vaping my 36mg liquid, I have found I need to restrict it to am only use or times of really craving an analog. This has been the only not positive thing I have found since I started vaping.

There are some very suggestions here, but can I add one more for you.

When I first started vaping more than 3 months ago now, I suffered really bad heartburn followed by the runs... every day.

I just didnt know what to do, but didnt want to go back to ciggies, so I read as much info on this site as I could find.

Supposing your intake of nicotine is correct, mind you reducing the amount is always good.

It could be the PG that is causing it.

In which case, perhaps you can try the method I used.

I bought a VG liquid,( Ecopure was the one I chose, but there could be others out there now), and tried that, and gradually the heartburn eased. Then after a couple of weeks I started re introducing PG, but slowly, maybe a couple of vapes morning and the same evening.

At present I am using the above method, as I actually like it, but some days I know when I have had too much PG, or have refilled that one time too many, as I feel the relflux start.

Worth a try
