I was going to post this into the rba section but since I can't I'll post it here. I'm getting a rba tank with a vamo v5 (will post the name when I get home). I went to the local shop to buy some organic cotton but I couldn't find any so I settled with 100% acrylic yarn. I wanted to know if I can build a reliable wick system with just the yarn and wire and if it is even safe to use. I couldn't find any info on the forums of people using acrylic yarn for wicking so hopefully someone can give me some insight on this.

This will also be my first time using a rba.

Couldn't find it? I'll bet that's because it melts. Like, you don't want to inhale that. Nope. No way. Get some cotton balls or something, they're everywhere. Or anything that you have heard of. Not acrylic.

This. Absolutely this. Go to WalMart, Walgreens, CVS, Rite-Aid, pick your retail giant.

There are some nasty chemicals put out by burning acrylic yarn that will do bad things to your lungs. Don't even try it, and give the acrylic yarn to someone that knits. Please.
