Adapter Problems

Hey guys, I'm fairly new to this.
But anyways the other day I bought a Smok Tech Slim 808 vivi nova tank. I also bought a 510 - 901/808 (shorty) adapter.... That doesn't work for my tank.
So could someone shed some light on the subject for me?
Like the difference between 901/808, 808, and 808D
And what I need (battery/adapter wise) to use my new tank

The 901 and 808 are the same thread, the difference goes back to when there were 901 atomizers and 808 cartomizers that used different air flow methods. This was years ago and should not be a problem. The 901/808, 808, 808D are all the same thread, along with the 808-D1 (there is a 808-D2 but it's seldom to never used)

Do you have a link to the adapter you purchased, or a picture of it? Does your tank fire with no air flow? Or can you puff it but it doesn't fire?
