Hello all, im fairly a noob to vaping, been about 4 weeks since i made the switch, Just wanted to give ya a little background though, smoked basically a pack a day of Marlboro lights, like everyone at 6 bucks a pack i spaced my smokes out for a full day. Now since switching , i use the 510 for when im out and about, and an Ego for my all day vape at home, Thing is , i cant seem to put it down, i carry it from room to room, and find myself constantly using it. I have come to find that the 50/50 mix liquid at 18mg is a nice spot for my juice, but i feel like a fiend on this thing, is this normal?

Personally, I find that my consumption goes up when I'm vaping, but I never chose it as a means of weaning myself off nicotine.
If I recommend it to any of my friends it's as an alternative and not a method for quitting.
I'm sure it's possible to reduce your nicotine intake through progressively lowering the strength of your juice but yeah, I tend to carry my ecig around with me in the house, vaping as I go. My view is that I like nicotine, I like catering to my 'oral fixation' and I like smoke/vapor. I vape because I believe it's safer than smoking tobacco and I can live with an increased nicotine intake as a side effect (my intake has definitely gone up since starting vaping).

At the end of the day it's up to you to decide how much is too much and regulate yourself accordingly. At least this way it's safer. I can't speak for other vapers but in my case it's business as usual. I hope this helps.

Ty Hairball, my wife looks at me like im an addict, and i just say" hey at least im not killing myself with regular ciggs" lol, anyway great to be here, been reading this forum awhile, just recently signed up though.

If your wife never smoked, she won't understand. My hubby chewed and has quit since I bought a ProVari. I couldn't use it since it's so heavy and I have problematic hands. I was going to sell it but instead he took it and gave up the chew. I would much rather kiss mango than Coppenhagen (or however you spell it).

I keep myself from doing that. I went into vaping determined to not increase my dependence on nicotine. So when I am at home I leave the ecigs in another room so I have to get off my .... and go in the other room to vape. I only leave one ecig next to me if I will be stuck in one place for while. At work the ecigs are on my desk and I do vape too much but i still 0mg in one of them.

Since I don't vape constantly it was pretty easy to drop my nicotine and just vape extra to smooth over the transition. I did lose a lot of TH by lowering the nic but I bought a Riva to make up for that.

You don't absorb the nic the same as smoking. I think that is why we all have them stuck to our faces puffing like a freight train. My daughter does the same thing as your wife. If she smells something interesting, she asks me what PV I have it in. She just takes a small puff and lets it float out her mouth. Oh she's not little, she's 21 years old.

When I first started back in August, I vaped 36mg and naturally have dropped down to 18mg. My body just started telling me to lower it. Nic OD's are no fun. Headaches, upset stomach, spinning rooms...are usually the signs that I need to drop. 18mg seems to suit me the best. I can vape the crap out of it without any bad stuff happening.

I keep some cartomizers loaded with 24mg for those "I want to choke the crap out of someone" times. You might consider getting a small bottle of a little higher nic for those kinds of days or moments.

I was a chain smoke so it's no surprise that I'm a chain vaper. For me it's more of an oral fixation than a nicotine thing; I never missed not being able to smoke on international flights (even the really long 16 hour ones). When I'm home though, where I can do whatever I want, it was one cig after another. I'm thinking of getting some juice with lower nicotine (I use 18mg) so I can swap between low and high nicotine carts.

Yes, it's normal. At least you don't have a PV in each hand..YET...like I do.

Welcome to ECF. Ask away, we're here to chat and give any possible help you may need.

I've gone driving with 4, 2 in each hand. Stop at a light and take a puff off each one. It's easier to vape & drive than it is to smoke & drive.
As for too much nicotine, I have a variety of strengths. I start with 12 mg earlier in the day then drop to 8 or 6. By the end of the day I'm using 2 or 0.

I'm on it constantly, too, and have had it about a month. At first I was worried my husband was feeling the same way as your wife, Cold. But I called out the pink elephant in the room, and it turns out he understood and was cool with it. I just made the point that at least this is better for me than analogs, and that it takes a lot more drags to equal an analog. I feel like a fiend most of the time, too! I have 4 batteries in constant rotation. lol

I have a brother in law that walks around the house with a lite beer in his hand after work, and I have a mother that is never without a cup of coffee in her hand from 7am-noon (she works nights). Why would vaping be any different? :)

Personally I'm fine with it, and my dear wife, while taking a little while to come around, sees the benefits are FAR outweighing any misgivings she had initially with me having a stick in my pocket during my waking hours.

I get teased at work because I love driving my Buick and I'm in my 30s, as if only retired folk like driving in a nice comfy car. To each his own!
