Hi everyone. My mom and I both vape and we live together so we share juices. When we first started we were getting 18mg nicotine and that ended up being way too much nicotine for me and a little to much for her. So we switched to 12mg. Its still to much for me but its maybe a little low for my mom. So I switched to 6mg and its great for me but not for her. We cant afford to buy seperate strengths for every juice. So on My Freedom Smokes website I saw some flavorless nicotine in a pg/vg base. There is a 24, 36, 48, 60 and 100mg nicotine levels in that flavorless stuff. And 100% PG... 75/25.. 50/50.. 25/75... and 100% VG...But before I buy some I need to know what strength to buy and a suggestion on what base % to get. And I know I need some sort of a formula. We dont want to have to add so much of the flavorless nicotine that it will dilute the flavor of the juice too much. I will be buying 6mg nicotine e juice from now on....so I need to know what strength of the flavorless nicotine to buy, the recommended base %, and how much to add to bring up the nicotine level to 12-16mg. And the last thing is there another vendor that would be better or one ya'll have had good success with? So I was wondering if anyone could help me out. If you need any more info just let me know.

You will need to buy the 100 mg/ml strength nic juice to minimize the flavor loss when it is added to the juice.

PG/VG of the base depends on your mom's preference. Just buy whichever is closest to her ideal mix. Keep in mind that high VG will lead to even more loss in flavor perception, but more vapor production.

What amounts of juice will you be diluting? I could come up with a formula that you can plug in numbers, but it's still to early and I don't have enough coffee in my system to make my brain do that kind of work yet, and I don't want to make any mistakes when it comes to this.

Have you considered just DIYing all your juices? The cost/benefit ratio is ridiculously good, and for the amount of money that would spend on one month's juice for the two of you, you would have enough supplies to make 6 months worth of juice, and have the ability to customize to taste and preference. Just sayin'...

The tip on the 100mg strength is good — you want to minimize the flavor loss. Here is a formula to boost the strength:

Ve x ((Nd - Ne) / (Na - Nd)) | where Ve is existing volume, Nd is desired strength, Ne is existing strength, Na is the added strength

So, if you had 10ml of juice and it is 6mg; and you wanted to bump it up to 16 mg, using 100 mg nic:

10 ml x ((16mg - 6mg)/(100mg - 16mg))
10ml x (10mg/84mg)
10ml x (0.11904)
= 1.19 ml of 100mg nic

Hope this helps...

If you don't want to mess around with 100mg/ml nic ( I wouldn't as a newcomer), You can get that premixed nic base from MFS and get some flavorings to go with it. Simple one flavor mixes are easy. And fun!!

Might also try NudeNicotine out, they're having a great 50% off sale right now and seem like a quality vendor.

MFS is great tho also. Welcome to you and your Mom! Happy vaping.

    10ml x (0.1064)
    = 1.064 ml of 100mg nic

    Hope this helps...

    -didn't see that. :)

At the amount you need to add, the use of VG or PG is probably not a big issue: you are only going to need to add about 10% or less to your original juice to get the strength you want. I would probably go with PG as it is not as thick as VG, but some people have allergic reactions to PG, so that is your call.

Oh ok...so u were telling the moderator to move it...

Yeah, usually a moderator will see a thread like this and move it to the appropriate area from the general discussion thread...
These other threads usually have a disclaimer header about how nicotine is dangerous and such, so that people can be forwarned.

Perhaps Caridwen is able to move it?

Hey. Thanks everyone for a quick response.

SPACEBALLSRULES: Ok so is it the lower the VG% the better on not diluting the flavor or just dont get 100%VG? She will be using 20ml bottles.
DSY5: thanks for the formula. Looks like it will work for me and its simple.
CARIDWEN: I buy 6mg and my mom wants it to be 12mg - 16mg

You will be diluting the flavor no matter what, but PG is better for flavor perception. VG will dull flavors.

Just get the closest ratio to what you are already vaping. If your Mom prefers 70pg/30vg, then get 75/25. If she prefers 50/50, then get 50/50. And so on....

As spaceballsrules said, you can get nic in various ratios of PG to VG, however, lately some sites have been limiting their nic to 100% PG or 100% VG due to nic shortages and/or demands...

If you can find the ratioed nic, fine; get as close to what your pre-made juice is — if not, the amount you are going to add isn't going to significantly affect the outcome. If that's the case, I would go with the 100% PG.
