I am on the hunt for PV's with adjustable or floating center pins. I have been looking at mech mod's and VV mod's(i would perfer one of each) to replace my Vamo V1 that is currently on life support. I did just get a SVD but want another VV device to use as a back-up. I have been on the hunt over the past several days scouring websites for devices and see most often they do not mention if the center pin is fixed or adjustable. Using so many different kinds of tanks and rba's on my Vamo the center pin barely makes contact with 1/2 my tanks anymore. Any suggestions on devices is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Well, you can pry up the center pin of your vamo very carefully to get it to work with your other tanks again.

The floating pin on my SVD pretty much rocks. I'd be curious to see what other mods have this feature.

Same here, everything I've tried works fine on the SVD, can't beat the price either at Fasttech.

A fully adjustable center pin is threaded, it looks and acts just like a screw. Some devices I've seen, like the Chi-You have fancier ones. Both my Magneto and Nemesis have the screw style setup. This is a replacement pin for the Nemesis, cleanest picture I could find.

My SVD has a spring loaded floating pin. A lot less hassle to adjust but when those springs go out then the device is dead. At least without tearing it apart. Not as big of an issue with mechanicals to replace but most of the high end mods that I've checked out skip the spring loaded floating pin to avoid the possibility of a short, which a vv mod negates since it has the circuitry to detect and stop a short.

Threaded sounds very nice. I have a vamo and it died from prying too much, wire came off pin. I have the svd too works amazing same pin though but the grommet is better and with the protank beauty cone its impossible to wear out pin . Now i have a sentinel v3 and private v2 on the way and both have threaded center pins i believe. Sounds a lot easier and more solid to have a threaded center pin that when i break i can replace with a cheap replacement pin. What problems if any hasn't you had with the chi you so far? Or any mod for that matter. Do you think sentinel v3 was a smart choice for someone new to mods. I hear they're pretty solid with only few hiccups. Let me know what your experience has been. Thanks Morningstar!

Just wanted to point out that an adjustable floating pin doesn't necessarily have to be threaded. A good example is my MKB-TS. It is free floating, where only the friction from the insulator keeps it from being too loose. I attatch an atty just a few turns, then push the center pin up to meet its pin, then screw the atty until flush where it pushes the center pin down to the proper setting. Works like a charm.

Yep... same deal with the Nzonic V3. Works a treat. ;-)
