I have a pheonix v5 and the issue I'm having is getting it to fire on my MVP2. I have read on here that sometimes the center pin on the rda has to be pushed down from the top. Its not a great rda and came with a small allen wrench. Im guessing I would insert that into the center post into the screw and tap lightly down on it? Can I over do it? Should I attach it to an old ego battery while tapping it down or just have it sitting on a table?

Tapping the center pin down should do the trick....BUT NOT TOO MUCH!! Just ~1/32" should be enough.....
Get a piece of scrap wood (i.e, a 2X4) and drill a hole DEEPER and SLIGHTLY WIDER that the RDA's 510 connector...this will "float" the pin to allow you to tap down the post....a tap or 2 is all you need!!! Good luck!
Happy (vaping) Trails!

Have you tried to lift the center pin on the MVP? he can get stuck down too far. You can take a very small screwdriver or dental tool and work around the center connection to lift it up. I have an Innokin 3.0 and it does that. I have had to do that a few times.

If you try to tap the pos post down do not use the allen wrench to do it. Just tap it those allen wrenches are so thin it would just bend over.

I have an IGO W I had to do that to. Gentle tapping did not work. I finally chalked it up to a loss (wouldn't work anyway) So gave it a nice thwack with a tack hammer. Needless to say that pin moved quite a bit. Then I tapped it back and tapped and tapped until I got it to where it needed to be. It needs a good thwack at least the IGO W I had did. Frustrating because I built 10 coils for the thing thinking it was me.

DaBluCig made a good suggestion with drilling a hole in a piece of wood. I had already had a spare piece of wood from an old table with a hole drilled through it.

I am hesitant to touch the center pin on the MVP. all of my other tanks fire just fine on the MVP. the MVP is way more expensive than what I payed for the RDA. I will Attempt to tap the center post down on the RDA. Thanks for all of your help. I will post back with the results!

You shouldn't be that hesistant. There are a number of threads on here that mention it and several youtube videos. Here is one. Center Pin Issue - Fixing a non firing eGo battery - YouTube

Got it to fire!!! Here's what I did. Thanks to all of your help of course... I had a 510 to ego connector. Screwed the Phoenix rda into that. Got a cloth. Used pliers to hold the connector with rda attached. Then tried to tap it with a hammer using a safety clip to push positive down. Ahah that didn't work. Then just tapped post with hammer gently. Put it on MVP 2. Boom! It read a resistance. Thanks guys!
