Greetings GG Family, just need some expert advice on what possible options are available in regards to making adjustments with my GGTS button?

There are NO problems at all regarding functionality and it fires every time and just wanted to make sure that is not why I am asking:), but what I am finding that after I installed my FUSE kit and once I have the button tightened down, not too tight but enough, that I barely have to push it to activate it. I mean when I push the button it really doesn't seem to go in at all so just wanted to see what, if anything, I can do to make it to where the button can actually be pushed in a little more?

I first thought about just putting a small rubber oring but then didn't realize (duh:facepalm:) it has to be against the body to make a connection, so that leads me to thinking maybe a small metal washer would work by putting this on so the washer makes contact the with GG body and that this would then gives me just a little more distance when pushing the button. However I didn't know if there was another better way or if I should use a specific type of metal (silver, steel, brass, etc.) or if using a washer would damage anything or cause a short?

Thanks for any and all advice everyone, I really appreciate it and again the button works find, just want to see if I can adjust it to where it actually goes down some when being pressed.

Just try a regular o-ring ED-209.

If it works out please take a couple pics if you could

I tried using a rubber oring but it wouldn't fire and was making connection so that leads me to believe the oring or washer needs to be metal so a connection can be made but I am a novice at best when it comes to the GG so just needed confirmation on what type of metal or material can be used for the oring?

Thanks,

I am a total CE2 carto newbie never having liked the top coil idea. That said, I saw on a post where there is a 1mm wide clear spacer in the mix of the pieces between the top and the coil. I snagged one and even though I still don't know what it's called, it works great for increasing the throw by 1mm.

It also has the benefit if not scratching up the metal tube. Maybe someone that knows the anatomy of a CE2 can explain what the piece I am referring to is called but I am still using the first one on #1376 and the added 1mm made it perfect for my tastes.

Thanks Major and I "think" I know what you are talking about or at least what I found on one of my CE2 clearos and tried out. I noticed on the newer and or possibly older clearos there is a clear oring on the bottom that assists with preventing leaks when the clear tube is put on, so I tried and used that.

The only issue I have is that when I tighten the button down to where it's pretty snug, it didn't really increase the throw since the oring just got pushed out the sides while tightening, so if I tighten enough to where the oring doesn't squish, I do get more throw which is great but I just have to be careful when locking and unlocking that I don't unscrew the entire button but at least it's something:)

Now if there is some other spacer that Major is referring to, just let me know as well.

Thanks everyone for the help with this.

I apologize for not being able to give a better reference point but the spacer/washer/o-ring deal I referred to was clear but almost as rigid as plastic so I haven't experience the squished out problem yet.

I am not even sure of the revision of the CE2 I got it from to be honest as I had a friend send me a couple that were not otherwise really usable. And as often as the Royal Smoker guys re-do the things, who knows.

I will check with the guy I got it from to see if he knows. I also have to say I don't really tighten my button down too hard so that may account for some difference as well. At the end of the day though, I would think that any dense polymer type washer would serve the purpose.

It's kinda funny to envision exactly what you need but finding it or recalling where you saw it can be elusive. Or it is for me sometimes at my age!

LOL, trust me I know the feeling, maybe it's this crazy FL weather we go through ;) I am not too far from ya so we go through about the same kinda stuff.

It's no biggie and it's just my OCD but I really like playing around with this GGTS and learning the hard way on why to keep brass clean. I cleaned it up nice and spiffy last week and now it looks worn but not in a bad way, just nice knowing I can make them shiny or keep them at a worn in look.

Thanks for the help Major
