Some folks claim shorty type attys are better for flavor. I prefer the normal size myself. I've tried a couple of shorties and they are extremely hot and spit juice in your mouth like nobody's bidness. Flavor can be made with the right build in and atty. It's about the coil's surface area and airflow, not the size of the chimney. I guess if you were going for stealth, the shorter rda's would be easier to conceal, but I just can't get past the spitting issues.

Atty's with smaller chamber sizer, space under the covers, and less air flow, tend to make better flavor. Atty's with bigger chambers and more airflow tend to make better clouds.
There is a thread about the mini, most people say the flavor is better on the Mini than the full size. I am trying to track down my full size Velocity which is apparently in USPS limbo.
I use both and agree it's more about the build than the chamber size.
Most use mini RDA due to aesthetics.
You can eliminate spitback by building coils lower on the deck and closer to the airflow holes.
I use a derringer with dual parallel coils at about .29 ohms with the airflow control ring removed.
Zero spitback.
You are right it's all about surface area, of the coil and the atty and the ratio of one vs the other. A large surface coil can potentially convert more juice at one time to steam, result more clouds and/flavor. Large surface area or VOLUME inside the atty allows for more airflow than a smaller sized atty. So there is a balance, there to be looked at also. More air more dilution of the vapor.

You could always just get both, they are pretty inexpensive. Or get the full size first and if you like it, grab the mini.
I'm really enjoying my Velocity Mini. I have both and I must say the Mini is a bit more flavorful

After using many minis and full size RDA`s side by side, I`m beginning to think any advantages one way or the other kinda cancels each other out. ON a full size, you can run a lower coil and get great vapor and flavor. On a mini you have to go a bit higher on the coils due to heat but you can get equally good vapor and flavor due to the smaller size. Most of my minis run best at .3-.4, most of my full size get along fine at .2-.25.
So, my advice, buy what fits in your pocket, or what you like the looks of best. Don`t do it solely for flavor only.

The velocity mini isn't that mini compared to normal rdas, so you wont have the spit-back issues that the tiny mini rdas have
No advantages, it's simply preference. Smaller attys generate "smaller" vapes. Larger attys generate.....CLOUDZ, BRUH.
The new generation of 22mm attys generate better flavor than smaller attys as well. Smaller for mean simply means less of everything.

Disagree. Build is critical no matter what size RDA. None the less, Small chambers minimize Air to E-liquid Vapor.
