So i am fairly knowledgable when it comes to actual computer but the interwebs are kind of a mystery to me. How do the advertisements work to generate income? do i need to buy something after clicking on thier banner or do you guys get money just from my clicking?

I ask because though i am pretty new i plan on getting pretty heavily into my vaping and i would like to buy a few more models but i would like to do this in a way that benefits this forum. Is there any way that a specific list of links can be created by a moderator that by clicking those to get to a shopping site we make sure to give the board the credit for the refferal?

I have a blue and i bought it before i saw they advertised here but i would like to buy at least 2 401's and a rediculously unnescesarry (yeah my spelling sucks but the browser at my work doesnt have a spellcheck on the browser) stockpile of juice.

I think I should be able to explain a little. The forum owner or a mod will chime in to let you know if I am correct or not.

You can click on "Sponsoring Suppliers" at the top of the forum to see a list and banners of folks who support the forum by sponsoring. This usually means that they pay a monthly fee or a fee for x number of impressions (which means that their banner will continue to show up until x number is reached--it is usually random type rotation among other banners).
There is usually not any money made when the banner is clicked. It can be set that way sometimes but not usually. The money is made simply by the fee to show the banner. Of course, the reason someone pays the fee on a continued basis, is that it is actually getting you to click and come to their site and hopefully purchase something.

Now on to other type advertisements you see and how it works. I am talking about Google Ads. You will notice them on sites with a little line that says "Ads by Google". These are usually text links and not usually banners.

These Google Ads do in fact make the website owner money. Usually, it is only pennies per click, but in some cases, can be dollars per click. The idea here is to get thousands of clicks. Some websites are actually built to intice you to click these little text links.

Now to explain how the website owner makes the money. If the website owner is paid each time the "google ad" is clicked, who is paying? Well, actually this is done by a kind of auction or bid. Let say you have a product like an ecig. You want your "text link" to show each time someone "googles" or see's a website related to ecigs with "google ads" on it. Whoever, has bid the most for the word "ecig" will get the "text link' showing. They purchase or actually rent the keyword "ecig" from Google for a time or a certain amount of money.

Warning: If you are not comfortable with or know what you are doing related to bidding on keywords be very careful. If you forget to set certain parameters, such as how much money you want to spend etc., then you could easily wipe out your bank account without knowing it and be too late to do anything about it.

I hope that explains a little for you. I think I actually confused myself--LOL

The above explainations are general in nature---A website owner could actually do things different--but in general, that is the way things work.
