Hey guys, I figured this might've been posted before but I've had no luck with thread searching so I'm going to ask anyway. Mesh genesis and wicked drip RBAs supposedly give a much nicer flavor and more consistent vape right? I'm currently using a kanger T2 on a generic ego, which I do enjoy but there's a lot of room for improvement. I figured an upgrade would be a AGA-T2/+, DID or even Igo-L combined with some sort of mod. The Vamo is one of the cheapest with good value and it offers VW so it caught my eye. I realize that VV/VW devices don't allow me to coil below 1,5 ohms, but how does that affect the performance and advantages of a cheap rba? Wouldn't vaping at a higher wattage give the same results? I've been reading mixed messages on this matter.
I'm pretty comfortable with fiddling around with coiling and wick wrapping as i'm an electric engineering student; ease-of-use isn't an issue.

I've not written off mechanical mods of course, but they seem a lot more expensive most of the time. I'm willing to shell out ~$30 for an rba and ~$60 for a mod. If anyone can point me to an affordable mechanical mod that would outperform a vamo with RBAs, I think I'll have a good view of all my options for the ~$100 budget.
Along the way of this search I've done nothing but drool over hybrids like the Ikarus v1, but i feel that it's above my budget...

I have an AGA-T, a DID clone and a Trivecca and run all three on my Provari. I normally make my coils out of 32ga Kanthal with a 5/6 wrap and hold around 1.9 ohms. This gives me a good vape around 4v on the Provari and still works good on my 3.7v mods as well. I'm still having some issues getting my coils perfect, but getting better.
The vv/vw gives you more room to work with on an RBA, there isn't the need to get the coil to the perfect resistance. You can adjust it to suit your taste. One of the big advantages of using RBA's on them in fact. They will also protect the unit if you/I make a mistake or have a hot spot.
I still want a solid mechanical for a backup, I have my BB and a Tin mod, but would like something that takes the same battery as my Provari mini, like a Legacy mini. But don't feel I "have to have one" as the Provari lets me set the voltage to what I want to vape at.
