1.3 Ohm on Mec.jpg I guess I still have a lot to learn...... I've been reading many post in the forum about using large Kanthal, 30 - 28 gauge. I've been tinkering with my only true RBA (besides ViVi Nova's I guess) for the last month trying to understand the whole coil building, with my hopes of getting it and eventually buying a nicer device like the Z Atty Pro. My "starter" RBA is a AGA-T+. For what it cost, it really is a decent RBA. I've used 34g, 33g, 32g, and twisted 32g. After all of the interest in the larger gauge wire, I bought 100 feet of 28 gauge and it arrived today. I quickly took off the twisted 32 that I had been using, and wrapped a 7/6 wrap coil also using 325 mesh. I tossed it on the Provari at around 3.0 volts to break the coil in. I got the coil pretty even but I think the SS wick center hole closed up on me cause I wasn't wicking well. After about a hour, I grabbed a newly wrapped SS mesh wick and started to wrap another coil. This time I used a 8/7 wrap and it came out to 1.3 Ohm. After I had the the coil looking good, even, and glowing like the sun, I threw juice in the tank, and started to vape --- Not bad, but not that great vapor pushing the RBA with 3.5 or so Volts on the Provari. About 3 weeks ago after much talk, my wonderful wife purchased me my first mechanical mod. I read about the hype, but hadn't really used it much cause I just bought my Provari Mini 1 week before. After low vapor with the ProVari, I threw the AGA on my new mechanical mod. It is not kicked, and has a 18350 in it right now. I hit the fire button, and wow....Nice amount of vapor. Every time I fire with the mechanical mod, a amazing vape. Here's what I don't get. Using the Provari even with the voltage close to what the mechanical mod is using, why is it taking longer to heat the 8/7, 28 gauge wrapped coil, and not seemingly putting out as good of vapor as the cheaper non technical, mechanical mod???? Even more, it seems like the mechanical mod has to be running higher voltage than the 3.5 volts I had the Provari at and not tasting like the juice is burning when running the higher voltage? This one has me stumped. Either way, nice surprise from the mechanical mod, Im guessing I will now find out how to appreciate low resistances!
