Hi guys!

Never heard of e-cigs until this morning and really want to try them out! Sick of coughing up huge amounts of brown gunge every morning and unable to go cold turkey - not to mention the fact that I do love smoking!!

However, I've become confused about which e-cig to try and there's aan awful lot of confusing details about nictotine strengths, atomisers, refills, USB pass-throughs, etc, etc that I don't really understand!

Could anyone out there be patient enough to run me through some suggestions of what exactly I should look to buy (please also include recommendations of actual makers/brands) based on my smoking habits below!

As for my analog (I believe this refers to normal cigs!) smoking habits, I currently smoke around 15-20 0.1mg menthol cigs (slim/ladies type) a day. I tend to inhale pretty deeply as I like the hit in my lungs.

Maybe, therefore, something fairly slim-shaped with low nicotine level but with reasonably heafty vapour strength?

Really hoping this will finally help wean me off the bloody fags!!

You'd probably do good with a 901 (mini. Small with lots of vapor) and at 11 or 16 mg nicotine. Better to start low and work your way up if it doesn't suite you. Get several atomizers and plenty of liquid flavors to try in small bottles. Once you find the one you like, get a big bottle to save money. Passthroughs are nice to have if you've got the extra cash to spend.

As far as who to recommend, it depends on where your from. You might want to include that in your profile so we'll know :).

Well for starters, I must proceed this that electronic smoking is not a cessitation device. However there have been many people, myself included, who have been able to convert off of cigarettes and directly through digital smoking.

You are right, I had the same experience... there is a lot of stuff out there... Price ranges seem all over the place, and it's hard to sort it out with myriads of information on the 'net.

When I started vaping, I got an ultra mini because I figured it looked like a cigarette and it would help me move off of analogs easier. Although it's a nice conversation item, I don't know if I were to do it again if it would be my primary choice.

My cigarette smoking was pretty similar to yours. I really like my DSE901. As strange as it sounds, the part I like the best about it is that it doesn't look like a cigarette! I like the way it feels and the form factor, it has a nice throat hit and good vapor. Compared to my ultra mini, the DSE901 has a lot of factors that I think is worthy of a first time smoker, I wouldn't stray anyone away from it.

I recently got a JOYE501 (Also known by some as a Yeti) which I adore. It has even more vapor than the 901 but the form factor isn't as nice to me... it's really a personal preference that you will find as time goes on.

As far as "brands" there isn't really a "brand" per se that I'm aware of for the DSE901, it's kind of more a model... there are reputable dealers who get their product from different manufacturers. But as a whole, I hear they are pretty dang solid. My experience concurs with that.

For starters, I would DEFINATELY recommend buying juice, atomizers and batteries. Electronics fail, it happens, and you do not want to be out after you convert (I'm saying this from a hard learned experience). USB passthroughs are cool, but it's kinda an optional accessory...

You will save yourself tons by buying juice instead of prefilled cartridges. Plus there are a lot of FUN flavors to try. After e-smoking since late jan, I tend to stray from the "tobacco" flavored ones and more to the funky cool flavors. Everything you can imagine, redbull, pineapple, banana, mint, menthol, coconut, all that exists in flavors... and I'll probably vape them too. LOL

I never thought I'd like the flavors, since I used to love cigars/pipes/cigarettes so much... but your taste buds will change. I say, just have fun! Try whatever sounds good. Keep in mind, as far as my experience, none of the flavors really taste like cigarettes (to me)... the closest has been RY4 flavor, and I really don't like it anymore. lol

The menthols I have tried have a great throat hit. It doesn't taste like a menthol cigarette to me, but it's mighty excellent. I found that banana has a great throat hit and my more recent favorite...grape. :D

There are varying strengths of juice, I've seen 36mg down to 8mg, and no nic. I am personally scared of 36mg, I'm doing 16mg (high strength) and it's more than plenty for the way I vape. I'm probably going to transition down to medium 11mg very soon.

One of my buddies suggested starting at 16MG for the way I smoke and working down. I've also seen posts with people saying start high for the morning smoke effect then vape the rest of the day on mediums... personal preference, I suppose.

Keep in mind too that vaping is not the same as smoking a cigarette. There is a learning curve and it does "feel" different. For me at least, it was an easy transition. I dig the fact that vaping doesn't taste, smell, or feel like a cigarette except for the nicotine effect and the hand to mouth thing... My suggestions to you, find a reputable dealer who is not gouging on whatever model you chose (I've seen 901's range from comedically cheap to $100+), who treats you right, and has replacements available. My 901 was in the $40 range which I think is reasonable, and my supplier just rocks. Also, just have fun with it. There's prefilled carts which is more expensive, but there's flavored juices which is cheaper and more fun.
