Advice for Refurbishing old GGTS

I have a really old GGTS (original) that wasn't really taken care of properly, I gave up on vaping in 2009, but now I'm back again.

Just wondering if this can be cleaned somehow or what I can do with it. It's scratched up quite a bit in various places and has a lot of wear along with e-liquid stains on the top cap. The threads need serious cleaning as well.

Right now I'm not using it, I'm using an iTaste SVD I got from fasttech, but I would like this in working order, or I might sell it if it's worth anything. (I'm a little new to using the forum so I'm not sure how to go about that. Though for sentimental reasons I'm not quite sure about selling.) Here's a few pictures of it

Something weird is going on with the attachment, not sure how to fix it. (Direct links http://i.imgur.com/I0aCroQ.jpg http://i.imgur.com/f4AXN7u.jpg )

The scratches are either from being in a pocket or because I used the wrong tools when the threading got stuck together to separate the pieces. I don't really think it can ever really be restored to its former "flashy" state :( Chances are though once I work on it I won't use it much, I don't know how to treat expensive mods with respect so I'm going with sort of "disposable" clones this time around.

Very nice. If you go on youtube and search for Todds reviews, he has a video that explains polishing, and metal brushing to give you the look you want. It really isnt that hard to do. I hope you get that girl all prettied up and post some pictures as you go. Hope this helps. And dont sell it. Unless its to me anyway Lol. Have a great day.

Start with some Mothers mag & aluminum polish, a microfiber towel and some elbow grease. Ill bet that would bring most of the shine back after the first round of going at it.

If that doesn't work, send it off to get polished. If you don't know anyone who does polishing work, talk to me, I'd be willing to help out, and could probably get it pretty close to the original shine :)

The new Tapatalk update blows... that is all

Your GG is not bad at all, just needs some love. I agree with the above, use a non-abrasive polish with a micro cloth and the brass should be looking good in no time. For the alloy it looks like most of your scratches on the top tube so that is good, if the polish doesn't get rid of all the marks you can use wet sand paper (wouldn't start any more course than 800) up to 2000 grit then re-polish. should be fine. Let us know what you come up with. BTW I have the same kind of GG as well, I retired mine and she just sits there and looks purrty. I wouldn't sell it unless you have to. Just my 2 cents.
