Mine was the express kit but looks different than the express kit pictured off that website you linked. My fire button is a smoked grey color and the picture looks straight up black
I found some proof that innokin have diferent version, in the website you can clearly see the express kit photos have the big chrome ring under the removable top cap and bigger side butons,, the complete kit have the thin smaller ring under the removable top cap and flatenned side butons. So even in innokin website we will see some diference. Since the express kit came later i think the bigger ring are latest batch of production or just as simple as the express kit is diferent than the complete kit. Or made by diferent manufacturer

Express kit
iTaste SVD Express Kit - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin

Complete kit
Innokin iTaste SVD, Best Tube Style Variable Wattage E-Cigarette - Best Electronic Cigarette | E Cigarette Manufacturer| Innokin

Mine have big ring and bigger butons and is the express kit from fasttech. What you got?

One big thing on mine, however, is the end cap. Inside the bottom cap on both the pre-release and the production model on GrimmGreen's videos, and any 'legit' Innokin's I've seen, have a white part (one looks like a gear, one doesn't) while mine is black (gear shaped).
As I said before, I really don't care if it's a copy as long as it's good... and so far, I have no complaints. I just find it odd.

The photo on innokin website of the express kit looks like is the translucent black one. Must be because have colors led to indicate battery status, looks like is a shadow effect by looking the sgadow or black strip crosing the middle of the mod from bottom to top..

I think as some have stated that the differences are simply production date differences. I saw both the clear button version and the grey button version at the local vendor where I bought my SVD. The clear button however was ONLY in a display because as the vendor told me it was the first one he got from iTaste. All the rest of them he has gotten including his own personal use one has the grey button and other changes. Here are some photos of my SVD I purchased last week, and honestly this thing is a TANK just as most state very solid and works beautifully.

all4spl, can I ask you a favour, please...

Could you take another photo of the SVD, like the one above, with a ruler/tape measure alongside (centimetres, please), so I can see the length with the iClear30 attached?

That would help me to get a clear picture of the overall length of the SVD.

Got mine on order from FT but, the scheduled shipping date isn't until the 6th August. I'm in the UK, by the way. Anyone have an idea of the time it'll take to get to the UK?

Thanks all4spl!

It is big and heavy, but it feels comfortable in the hand, although saying that I have got huge hands, the only criticism about the handling I have found is that I have occasionally pressed one of the side buttons instead of the fire button, but as long as you have the settings locked you won't change any settings.

Just got my SVD from Fasttech yesterday. Also a mixed bag of the two versions that the OP received. The differences of the text on the tube (+, -, itaste, etc.) could easily be attributed to different machines making the tubes. Just like two typewriters from a manufacturer will have their own unique letter imprint on paper...a z typed by typewriter #1 will be different than a z from TW#2. I'm guessing Innokin has several machines pumping out these SVDs and each will have it's own signature. Etching blade could be sharper or duller, etc. etc.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with it ;)

Thanks for that, Mark! :)

I do have one more question for you guys...

dmanindfw, you received yours yesterday, could you have a look and see which type of threading is on the bottom battery cap and telescopic bodies? There were two types of thread pitch: the pre-production model had a much finer thread pitch (the threads were much closer together, more threads/cm, hence a finer pitch) and the post-production model had a coarser pitch. One reviewer, GrimmGreen, said that he much preferred the pre-production finer pitch as it had a much smoother action and resulted in the telescopic end and body not moving in relation to one another. The coarser pitch of the post-production model resulted in there being movement between body and telescopic end, even when the telescopic end was tightened up on the battery.

GrimmGreen did his YouTube 'SVD revisited' review approximately 3 (three) months ago so, I was just wondering whether Innokin had returned to the finer pitch or remained with the coarser pitch or, maybe that's just another production difference between all these SVD's...?

It won't put me off my purchase either way, it's just that the incessantly vocal devil inside me, called 'Curiosity', relentlessly demands knowledge of such matters... ;)

Thanks Guys n' Gals!

...and sorry for being a pain in the...

Just stumbled onto this thread. Eagerly awaiting mine, and I JUST CHECKED TRACKING, and HOLY COW, it says it should be in my freakin mailbox! What the heck, it was in Hong Kong on Tuesday.
I guess I'll report back what it looks like some time tomorrow.

Very nice! Looking forward to hear your views...

Markh5682, were you stung by any customs charges in the UK? How do they send these things: gifts, samples, etc.?

I tried buying some eJuice from the US once... The order came to £22 including shipping and the customs charge was about £11. The customs charge included Royal Mail's £8 handling fee. Yeah, I wasn't really aware of the RM £8 handling fee before I purchased...

Hi Rapster

There is normally no problem with fasttech orders RE: customs, they normally label the package as a gift, the contents as spare parts and a low value in USD, although not normally a problem, there is always a first time when someone will get stung with import duty and handling charges.

I got stung with the charges once with an ebay package from the US which was wrongly labelled as new and therefore liable to import duty, when it clearly wasn't new as is was was ex military issue para boots.

Sorry can't do photos!
And I'll reply with more details - but here's first impressions:

- There's NO way this is a knockoff - Innokin sealed packaging, instructions, etc. I just can't believe they'd go that far in with a copy...

- Speaking of instructions:
"Screw the battery negative (-) cap off the telescopic tube" - - - - OK!
"Insert battery into telescopic tube with the negative (-) end of the battery in first" - - - OK! Wait, what?
"...and the positive (+) end out towards the battery negative (-) cap. - - - Wow - I get it, but that's not how we usually label things!

- DANG - the telescopic tube's vertical "grooves"? Those things are SHARP cut. I might be able to shave with this thing.

Batteries almost charged - be back later - wish me luck.

Whew - had a moment there with my SVD. Nothing. No vape. Got a weird 0.0A message.
Used the load meter, and got 0.3...yes, the ProTank I bought (real one, not from FT) came with a DOA coil head.
The backup reads 2.7, and works fine. I WAS going to start vaping with an EVOD, to get a comparison to what I'm used to EVOD on an Ego, but the ProTank just looks SO much nicer on it!!

OK - so here's the "real not real" report
A) As mentioned, everything was packaged Innokin. I wouldn't have even THOUGHT about it being a clone...
B) Only have one bottom cap, so I can't compare - it looks more like the one on the right in the OP
C) Screen is black
D) Top cover - no gaps in thread, and thread is REALLY short - like maybe 2 rotations. That's the only design feature worrying me...
E) Spring loaded battery connector
F) +/- buttons stick out and are nice and clicky
G) Fire button is black and shiny
H) Etching, eh - I can't tell -

So yeah, I don't think any of it matters - except maybe that venting that seems to have been only in a rare, perhaps older part? It's working, I like it, I think it's "real" Innokin. I just hope it doesn't tip over, cause I think it might shatter my glass desktop.

Oh - and bonus - I was REALLY worried I'd hate the draw on the ProTank, which is always described as "airy".
Not to me - it fits the SVD like they're made for each other, and draws PERFECT to my taste.
Happy.

Looking at your picture, you have the second generation Protank which has a reduced draw over the first generation tank.
