Hi, I'm new, and came upon this forum while trying to look for advice on how to fix an issue I'm having with my G6 mini-tanks. I registered, read the entire thread on G6 mini-tanks, then went to post... only to discover I was limited to this forum. So I apologize for the new thread but I don't see another way. Anyway, I have two questions w/regards to my mini-tanks (bolded the actual questions):

1) I saw in the other thread that the two main ways of avoiding burnt taste are making sure to keep the coils moist, not simply waiting for the wicks to draw up the liquid. Meaning turn it upside down every couple minutes to make sure the liquid gets to the coils. The second way was making sure you give the wicks time to get wet when you first fill a fresh tank. I wasn't doing either of these things so I think that may fix my problem entirely, however, I want to know: are there any other methods (or other types of clearomizers) that don't require this constant battle against burning? If I invested in a more expensive model, could I avoid having to deal with these sorts of "upkeep" issues entirely?

2) I'm still a little confused on how these clearomizers work. I have stared at them for hours and tried to figure out how I don't simply just suck up all the liquid into my mouth when I inhale but I'm stumped. Initially, I wouldn't pay much heed to the angle of the battery when I dragged my G6, but after getting liquid in my mouth a couple times, I decided to try to make sure that the mouthpiece was always above the tip, ensuring there is always a bubble of air at the top of the tank. That said, if I were to drag it at more of a horizontal angle, or even having the air bubble near the tip of the battery rather than the mouthpiece, would this actually work, or would it just lead to more liquid in my mouth? I guess I just don't see how I can inhale (anything but liquid) at all when the "holes" in the clearomizer are submerged entirely in the ejuice. Intuitively, it seems like that should block the airflow, but in practice it doesn't (at least not entirely) so I'm just wondering if someone could clear things up.

I know that was really long and I apologize. If anyone has some time to read and answer I'd really, really appreciate it though!

Hi and welcome to ECF!

I haven't used the Halo mini clearomizers, so the following is just some general info, based on other clearomizers I have used. Hopefully it may be useful. If there is a center tube going down the middle (it's hard to tell if this is the case or not, from looking at them on Halo's site), be sure that when you fill them, that you don't get any liquid in the center tube. Also be sure not to overfill them. When I used clearomizers with the wicks near the top, I didn't usually turn them upside down, but just twirled them a little horizontally.

If there is a center tube in the middle, which the wicks go through, as long as you don't get juice in the center tube when you fill it, generally you should not have juice leak into your mouth regardless of the angle held.

As to other tanks, probably a bottom coil tank would not need the "twirling". However, when looking for other tanks or clearomizers, you need to be careful to make sure that it has the correct threading for the Halo G6 - which is not the "510" threading, but "808". Perhaps another G6 user will pop in that might have more information as to what other alternatives are available for you, or what vendors may carry alternatives that will fit on the G6 battery.

Thank you, that was very helpful. I've tried to be very careful about not getting liquid into the center tube (halo clearomizers definitely have one) but I suspect something I'm doing leads to it getting there somehow. I decided to do a test with a clearomizer that's pretty much already ruined. What I did was blow through the mouthpiece to see if any e-liquid was cleared from the center of the tube. The result was a good amount of liquid that spurted out through the other end of the clearomizer. Could this be a symptom of liquid in the tube, or would blowing through the mouthpiece generally lead to forcing liquid through the tube that wouldn't get there normally? Thanks again

I am no expert but I think you might have over-filled them. I have three of them and have never gotten any juice in my mouth at any angle. If you've blown all the liquid out of the center tube your problem might be resolved. I ran hot water through mine to get rid of a juice I didn't like, blew all the water out, refilled it with a different juice after a few hours drying time and it was fine. I don't think it's ruined just because some juice got in the center core. You just need to get it out of there.

That *probably* is from liquid getting in the tube. I recently saw on another post that someone suggested not filling clearomizers all the way up to the "full" line, but to stop just before the slots where the wicks go into the center tube (presuming then that liquid can get into the center tube that way). I didn't think about it before, but when I have a clearomizer with juice in it on a battery that I am currently not using, I do try to keep it standing upright - I generally stand it up on a bookshelf against the books. And when you twirl it, you don't need to get the liquid all the way up to the top - just enough to get the bottom of the wicks covered.

I've got a couple of those G6 minitanks.

Don't fill them up to "0.9".

I only fill them up to 0.5, and haven't flooded once.

I think this was my problem. I always filled them up to the fill line, because it seemed, well, where you should fill it to :p. I'll not fill them so high in the future and hopefully that will solve the issues.

I have the g6 with mini tanks. Mine was barely full this morning and noticed some liquid on my lips. used it all day uesterday no problems and hadnt refilled. So im not sure if overfilling is the problem. What i think i did was hold the tip up above the mouth piece when i vaped it. Havnt had a problem since. But that was just a few hours ago.

Hi guys, I am new to this but I have the Halo g6 and the mini tank, some issues I hope you can help me to resolve.

1: After 2 days of using the mini tank and washing drying every time I fill it gives me a burned taste no matter what.
2: I saw here someone said don’t fill it to 0.9 but around 0.5, the issue with that is I get an even more of a burned taste as soon as my juice is lower than 0.5 around 0.4 it gives a really bad burned taste and stops producing vapor.

Any help?

Welcome to the ECF.

1) I've been using mini tanks for couple of weeks and I have similar experiences like you. If you wash them and don't let them dry completely ( you must make sure that there isn't any water inside of the female part at the bottom. It may burn your battery too) you might have a burning taste. Just wipe the bottom and let it stay for at least 50 minutes.

2) when your juice is lower than 0.5, it means the wicks don't get enough juice in vertical position. Make it close to horizontal and wait the wicks get some juice on them and vape close to vertical again.

Those are what I did with my mini tanks and am still using the same tank for 10 days. I think it still has couple of days ( have some performance issues but still have the enough hit).
