I am currently working on a altered version of maddog's flashlight mod.

The reason it is altered is that I ordered my batteries before I researched the size needed to fit in that little flashlight.

I ordered a 3.7v 18650.

My buddy made that Sharpie Magnum mod to hold the 18650, and I was about the do the same thing when i found a way to make some space on the end for the wiring and connector.

The problem I am having is the battery pushes too hard on the circuit board and it loses connection with the inside of the tube. I had used some epoxy to hold it in place, and it worked fine for about 2 hrs. I had just applied the epoxy to the edge of the circuit board. I also made sure the solder connections were clean on the side.

What I am considering is either trying to cap the end of the tube with a lot more epoxy or trying something like rubber cement since that will have a little give, and hopefully not break like the epoxy did.

Anyone have any advice for me before I go try to put it back together ?

Trim a bit off the LARGE end of the battery spring, if you can get it loose. Try taking off one coil, then reinstall and test. If you can't get the spring loose, trim from the small end, but you'll need to make SURE that you bend the cut tip in (across the base of the battery, for good contact) and down, so it doesn't dig into the battery.

Good luck!
