Hello everyone,

I have been vaping for over 2 years but am no expert, I first got a I stick 20 w with nautillus tank which I was happy with, lasted about 18 months and cost about £60, but eventually the thread on the mod wore out. So I bought a new one off eBay which was a lot cheaper, and although it's very similar I think it might be a clone as its not quite the same quality. Today it has started to carry on burning after I have released the firing button, so I need to get anew set up.
So the advice I need is what would you recommend, I like the size of the istick and its durability as it must of been dropped a hundred times, but was wondering if there is a better mod out there , but it needs to be a value option,

Anyway thanks

John

Welcome @Hippo John.

Well, I just wish I lived nearer you, as I could just give you a mod and we could put an end to your iStick hassle.

I frequent this forum a lot and keep an eye on prices in the UK. When I'm not at home vaping on something a little overkill, I use iStick 30w, iStick 40w, Evic VTC mini, iStick Pico and mini Cloupor out and about on my travels and for work.

For me, the 40w is the easiest overall. The EVIC mini VTC is comfortably the best but it's a little bigger.
I do like the Pico, but.... meh.... there's something about it that annoys me in the pocket. It's sort of fat and dumpy, a bit like the missus.

Anyway, have a look around here.

Mods

To be honest, you can get the 40w iStick on Amazon.

Mine was £25 from China. UK price is more like £35.
Totally Wicked and Eleaf like to charge a very generous £38.99 which is nonsense.

IMO, eLeaf looked at Everything that was Wrong with the iStick 20 and 30 and then Fixed them with the iStick 40w TC.

And then they did a Small Form Factor Mod that uses a replaceable 18650 Battery in the eLeaf Pico.

I have Both the eLeaf iStick 40w TC and the eLeaf Pico. They are both Very Nice Mods.

Awesome comment(s)!

I agree. 6 of one, half a dozen of the other. :)

I normally built my mods. But I've always kept an eleaf on hand for the last 3 years. Right now it's the older iStick TC60W. Just this morning I ordered the Pico 75 Watt TC.

Something you should also consider. Get a backup. And a backup for your backup!

Newest addition to my Arsenal was a SMOK Alien 220 and a Baby Beast it hits like a mother and has a really good feel in the hand. My iStick TC40W has served me well and still serving me to this day but I sort of use it for stealth vaping or while working for pocket-ability. If the Alien is too heavy on the wallet I always recommend the RX200S because for the price it can't be beat and has been bounced a few times!

Good Luck and hope the input help your informed buying decision!

My fave is the istick Pico.

I agree with the iStick 30 and 40 recommendations. I don't own a 40w but have 2 30w. They're not expensive and work well.

If you want something really tiny, check out the Vaporesso Target Mini. It does TC on Nickel, Titanium and Stainless Steel wire. The battery won't last as long since it's only 1400 mah but should get you through a day if you don't vape above 20 watts.

I had a istick40tc mod. Utvworjwd great. Small size lighter weight than Coolfire4 with 2000 + mah.

Worked great in power mode.

In TC it sucked.

1. Only did TC With Nickel

2.in TC it fired at the full 40 watts so the battery life was pitiful using it in TC.

Welcome and glad you joined. I have two Istick 30w's (one's a clone. and yes. you can tell). I also have the Istick 40 TC and it is my favorite. I'm not messing with success (18 months is typical for longevity). Good luck.

My better half uses a Smok OSub 80W.

Great and well built compact mod, feels solid. Easy to use, has a big fire bar so sits comfortably in hand and just feels "right".

We got it for about £42 from Amazon with a Smok Brit Tank but I've seen them cheaper since then.

80W is plenty of power to run almost any tank, she runs a Baby Beast now at 40W and gets nearly 2 days from a charge.
