Advice on a compact set up

Hi,

I have never smoked a lot, and really never for nicotine. It is something I have done because I enjoy the act rather than anything else. To that end, I have smoked cigars and pipes as well as cigarettes, more so in the last few years at least. I am one of those people who might sit out side on a calm night and have a smoke, and then completely forget about it for a good while.

However, I'd really like to completely remove tobacco smoking from my life and I think that would be very easy for me to do wit a vape set up.

I have tried a few set ups, mechanical and regulated. I'd like a regulated set up as this seems to be more straight forward. I used a fasttech Hana clone that seemed quite good.

I also have some experience with Li-ion batteries from torches, and I have some good quality 18650 and 16340 cells (panasonic and efest), and a good charger etc.

- I would prefer to be able to swap out batteries and be sure that I am using quality ones - these things venting isn't pretty.
- I want a compact unit - this has been a big stumbling block in my own search, I see some nice mods and clearomizers (or what ever) but they are just huge
- I don't want to spend a ton of cash
- I am happy to order from abroad (I'm in the UK)

Bit of an essay, sorry, but I am stuck.

Thanks

That looks like it might be just the job for me - though I see it has been discontinued so may require some searching. Thanks for the heads up on that, I have been looking for a long time for compact options and never heard of this one and it pretty much ticks all boxes.

I have been looking at VV/VW mods but I am pretty sure they are going to provide way more than I would use.

Given the amount I am likely to use this thing, I am not sure if it's worth me getting into rebuilding? I am happy to take opinions on that.

Looking at something like the Mini Nova Alu - but don't really know what I am looking at/for.

A Mini Segelei ZMax might just be what you are looking for. Small & compact. Variable voltage/variable wattage. Built-in voltage & ohm meters. Relatively affordable, too.

Thanks, I found a few places which still have the Slip in stock, the Segelei ZMax I have come across before and it was on my own short list.

What about clearomizers then? Would the Mini Nova do what I want? Any other suggestions for a short clearo? For some reason the trend is for long and thin or long and wide - I want short and wide!

Thanks for the welcomes.

I've been really enjoying my 4nine clone with my Kayfun lite plus clone or 454 big block rda. It's small and with Kayfun very pocket friendly (big block has a tendency to leak).
I know you said you wanted regulated, but this setup is my tiny mod I've been using it out and about. If you're OK with doing some rebuilding it's great. You can probably put a kick in it with a smaller battery for variable wattage, but the voltage dropoff isn't noticeable with my Kayfun at 1.6ohm, to me anyway.

Hmm.

I am going to watch this thread, as I can't see much reason for you to get anything other than a basic box mod and something to put on the top.

So far, I am reading suggestions for equipment that even I wouldn't consider necessary for some casual vaping.

You can probably get by with an MVP and a couple of nice clearomisers.

Vape Escape couldn't even give the Vision Slip away in the end... and what is a Vivi Nova alu? I can see you getting way off track here Reijo.

:)

Hi fella - I am open to suggestions.

The Slip has been heavily discounted in a few places and can be had for not a lot of money. There isn't loads of information or reviews about them, but nor is there lots of hate for them either. Seems people change the spring. I don't mind picking up a battery or two.

I looked at the MVP, but it's quite large and comes with an inbuilt battery which I am not interested in, I want to know I am putting in a quality battery. I am not against the idea of a box mod.

When it comes to 'something to put on the top' - any recommendations?

It was the 'Aspire Mini Nova Aluminum BDC Clearomizer Kit' I was looking at.

Anything BDC is not ideal, given you can now get BVC. (i.m.o.)
Loads of people, including experienced/long term vapers use the MVP. I don't see where the problem is. It's the least returned e-cig box mod in the entire business.

The MVP is just not for me - I don't want an inbuilt battery and I would like something smaller, I'd also like to get out spending less as it's not something I am going to use a great deal. I have been very close to buying a Hana Clone a few times but it's really more than I need.

Yes, and it's also hard to find high quality clones in the UK. Some of them are just rubbish.

Have you ruled out 18350 or 14500 mods yet? For your needs something like a Vamo in 18350 would be a nice set-up.

The 2 slips and the tank I ordered arrived while I was away. Reasonably quick delivery from China, about 11 days I think. Pleased with what I've got, quality is good - machining and fit are good. Can't complain for $11 each.

Batteries on order. The spring is obviously weedy, a real oversight in an otherwise well thought out package. Should be straight forward to rectify.

Thanks again for your advice.
