Hi! I've been vaping since 2010 but took a hiatus for 1 yr because I had a baby. I'd like to start again but I need a new setup.

I have an eleaf istick (30w? I'm not sure. It was whatever that was new about a year ago.) And a nautilus mini tank.

I'm not familiar with building anything and I don't think that's the route I want to go. I'd rather have a plug n play type set up and that way I don't have one more thing to deal with.

I like what I have but I notice the flavors fade after just a few days. Not sure what the issue is but if I could solve it with a new set up I'm willing to try it. I usually only smoke bakery, fruit/creamy types of flavors. My favorite right now is 1992 from VTNW.

Any help or advice is appreciated!

howdy! and welcome!

the setup that i have recommended to a number of friends who have sucessfully made the transistion was the innokin disrupter and kanger subtank mini - very plug and play, very versatile, lots of options

keep in mind, the istick 30 and nautilus are still good gear - if they work for you, then all good - if you are looking to upgrade, may be worth checking out the ones i suggested above (kanger tank comes with 1.5ohm, .5ohm coils and rebuildable deck, if you decide to try that at some point) - the disrupter will go up to 50watts and is very well built and reliable, overall - very user friendly :)

Hello @rosquared and welcome to the forum. Flavor fade could be a result of "vapers tongue". https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/search/2401162/?q=vapers+tongue&o=relevance&c[node]=39

Common ways to keep from happening is to switch flavors often, drink lots of fluids especially water, and brush teeth (sounds funny but it works). It happens when the taste buds get used to a flavor and become desensitized.

Your set up is a good one and to really change you'll end up in the sub tank area, which will consume more juice and battery life. You will also need to cut your nicotine level if you go into this area. The better the delivery device the more juice consumed and the more nicotine ingested.

For this step I would recommend the Kanger Subtank Mini. It gives a great vape and you can buy factory coils of .5 and 1.5 for it. With a temp control mod (the iStick 30 isn't one) you can also purchase the .15 nickel coils. The Subtank Mini also has a build deck where you can learn to build your own coils (check you tube, it's easy and cheaper than buying them). Make certain you are looking at the V2 version of the Subtank Mini as it has better air flow and better wicking holes on the build deck. (the black and white ones are all v2 )

If you're looking at an entire new setup you'll have to consider internal battery or replaceable batteries (which will require a separate battery charger and extra batteries) for the mod. Also the temp control mods are new out and many use them.

If you mouth to lung vape then I would suggest getting a standard 510 drip tip (mouthpiece) and swap out the wide bore one that comes with the tank(will be more like the Nautilus mouthpiece...which won't fit a Subtank). I use a few of these and love them for my mouth to lung vape.

Good luck in your vape journey.

It may not be your device, it's common for favor to fade vaping the same juice, it's called vapors tongue. Solution is to change flavors. Also coils eventually get crud and a nasty taste, time for a new coil then. Can be days or weeks depending on the juice.

I not only switch juices often but switch genres as well. You mentioned you do mostly bakery. You might try switching from bakery to say fruits or something tart, like a tart fruit to smack the taste buds back awake. Pomegranate is my go to tart fruit for a bud smack to go with what others have said about drinking lots of fluids and brushing my teeth often.
I switch out my coils every 3 or 4 days as well. I put a new one in, soak the old one overnight-2 days then let it dry for a few days before putting it back in the rotation. It takes maybe 20 seconds to change out the pre builds in tanks and I just put warm water in a plastic yogurt tub and drop the coil I just took out. After the overnight soak I suck on the coil and if it has any taste at all, be it juice or burnt, I let it soak another day. It also helps them last much longer before popping.
Hope that helps and welcome to the forum.
