there has been some negative reviews and mishaps going around with the ipv4 usb charging. if you are thinking about an ipv4 id suggest you do some research on it before u purchase. If you do decide to purchase it, it's being suggested that you use external charger for your batteries for the ipv4.
From what I have read, there is no USB charging on the IPV4. The USB port is there only for firmware upgrades. Plugging in a USB charging cable won't charge the batteries in the mod. On the side directly underneath the atomizer, there is a small hole in the battery cover that has a metal pin. This is the external charging port and it requires a 9 volt charger.

im not familiar with how it charges but, they are recommending to not use the onboard charging on it. buncha fried/fire ipv4s due to this.

you can pickup a sigelei 150w and call it a day. 80-90$ quality 150w dual 18650 mod.

theres also the snowwolf 200w that takes 2x18650's as well, it also has temp control if you want to delve into that later, it can be had for 130$-150$, been hearing good reviews on it and have my eye on it for my next purchase

I liked Alice's post as I forgot to mention that I charge externally. I travel with my IPV4 occasionally and have charged it using the usb with no issues. I don't do that often but it works in a pinch. Good heads-up from Alice. :)
Are you sure it was actually charging? If I plug a USB charging cable into the USB port on the bottom of my IPV4, nothing happens.

im not actually sure exactly what causes it, but on ECR there are a bunch of posts about it, to the point where people actually go into the mod and take out the charging port. There were also a few pictures of people IPV4's that fried and caught fire. Im not in the market for an IPV4 so i never read into those threads, just warning that those threads are out there and there is talk/pics about it being faulty.

Maybe they were frying their IPV4's because they tried charging them using the USB when the USB port is not designed to charge the batteries? I suppose the low 0.5 amps of a computer's USB port won't be high enough to damage it, but if they are plugging it into a 1 amp charger?

The battery you buy will depend on the mod you are using and the amps you need. From a safety standpoint never charge batteries when you are not around to monitor them. Never leave them charging when you are sleeping.

The Snow Wolf is a nice looking mod. I saw on Facebook that Wake and Vape has a limited supply and they're selling the Snow Wolf for $95 right now. That's the lowest price I have found online. Don't know anything about that seller, but their website does claim that they don't sell clones and if you receive one from them, they will refund you double the price.

I would be tempted to get one, but if I get another mod, my wife would kill me. I've already bought seven over the last two and a half months.

Do the dual 18650s make 7.4v or just 3.7 for more time?

its a variable wattage mod, so you set it at the power you want. itll just last 2x as long as a single 18650.

so like you say you like to vape at 4.2 constantly, you can set it at 4.2v (whatever watts that is) and it will keep it at 4.2v til it tells you the batteries are low. I'ts a vv/vw regulated mod so you chose the power you want to vape it, so if you vape on the dual 18650 mod the same way you vape on your mod now, itll just last twice as long.

nitecore D2 is a good charger for you then. Mine has been working perfectly, I still wouldn't suggest leaving batteries in there knowing you will be away for a long time though, but ive put batteries on there and fell asleep and woke up the next morning to them fine at 4.2v.

Thank you! Very informational. I get all this advice but I wish people would agree or disagree with others posts. Everyone has their opinion, hoping to find a majority opinion.

If you agree with anothers post then say nothing, but a disagreement requires mention please. Hope Im not asking too much..

most people around here chose to stay silent when they disagree. let's just say there's a pattern here when people disagree with things.
