Advice on dripping

Hey guys and gals, I have a 50w ipv2 box mod with a doge dropper and competition cap, just looking for some advice on the best set up, I have just built my highest cool yet hitting 0.8 ohms and am wondering if upwards is the way to go. Before this i was doing a lot of sub ohming with resistance ranging from 0.18 up to 0.3 and have finally gone up, although to me it seems like I am getting more flavour, the valour output is very much the same, any ideas on how to get the best out of these box mods ??

I've read that higher ohms seem to be the best route with the box mods and that vapor production is not lost.

I have 3 RDA's all with a single 1ohm coil, running on a DNA30 at 15 watts. With the 1ohm coil, that 14,15,16 watt range is what I prefer. I will throw a .8 on every once in a while and run at 20 watts. Usually anything below 1ohm I throw it on a mechanical.

Unlike mech where the lower the resistance the higher the wattage, with regulated box mods even though it can reach a specific sub ohm threshold it doesn't mean it can deliver it's max wattage at that setting.
You don't need to aim for the minimum possible resistance, you need to aim for maximum coil surface area.

In addition to what others have said, I would add that when building on any device, air flow is a really big deal. Pay attention to it and experiment.

Also when dripping, nicotine level can differ from normal vaping. I normally vape at 18mg, but I drop to 6mg on a lot of dripping builds or it is way to harsh.

pretty much what has been said above. On my 50w box mod I run a kayfun or a single coil dripper both built to 1.2 ohms and then a adjust the watts to get the flavor I want. If I run anything sub ohm it goes on my mechs.

I've found that the higher the resistance the better. I use 1.4-1.6Ω single coil builds on my DNA30 because it pumps the voltage up. 22.5Watts on a 1.6Ω coil at 4.9V = heaven.

1.3 ohms has been my sweet spot on the IPV at 50 watts, the flavor with the larger coils has been incredible.

Ohms alone doesn't help without gauge.

For exampe the above post: (Just an example out of the several above that only mention ohms but no gauge)

1.3 ohms 50 watts.
If that is single coil, that's probably not 28 gauge; maybe it's 26 gauge;
Or maybe it's 28 gauge but dual coil - in which case the usefull numbers are: 28g, 2.6 ohm, 25 watts

It sure ain't a 1.3 ohm single coil of 34 gauge.

Thanks all for your help, I heard about the surface area increase helping with flavour but the problem there is the amount of juice you would get through. At the minute I'm at 0.8 ohms with a dual coil setup with 25.5 gauge kanthal wire, had royal wire on the other setups but just bought new wire today. If anyone knows about the doge the they will know that the airflow will not be a problem no matter what I run on it haha.
I'm gonna try and build up to 1.3 ohms tomorrow but I'm having trouble with my display changing from 0.8 dropping to 0.6 and increasing to 1.0. It's a little strange to be honest but all connections are tight and coils in as well as can be.

Oh and kullin kin 4.9v seems a little low on a 1.6 ohm coil at 22.5 watts, mines displaying 0.7 ohms, 5.1 volts at 35 watts but when a 1.3 ohm coil is on I think it reaches about 7 volts. May be about right actually come to think of it making this whole comment redundant but oh well lol

its a dual 14 wrap of 28g on a 3/32" bit.
im currently at work so didnt have much tome for specs lol

That is a lot of help now. I know how many wraps I need to do tomorrow although I may need to increase the amount due to the size of the bit I use. I use a mini screwdriver that came with my ipv2 so it's a very right and tidy wrap

id find yourself a nice big bit, for me, the flavor doubles with the bigger macro coils

on my ipv2, if I am trying to get the most out of what it offers, I build a dual coil set up at 1.5 ohm using 30 or 28 guage and run it at 50 watts (this build uses max voltage and wattage) This is an intense, warm, dense vape with great flavor and vapor. I can usually only do 1 or 2 second drags.

I will defo keep you all updated tomorrow. The good thing about the mini drivers is that you can push coil into handle to compress it and keep it tight when you are wrapping. With a drill bit it's a little more difficult to do so isn't it

I don't find that strange;
I got a coil right now on my igo-w3 reading 3.9 at the moment, but I've seen it read 4.1, and probably as low as 3.6
