I am currently using a Halo Triton with Triton tanks. It vapes well and I have no probs with it, but I have heard that the top coil do not give nearly as much flavor as other coils. I am thinking about upgrading to new gear, but am still semi-new to vaping, so I do not know exactly what I should get since there is so much out there. My first thought was to go for an ego battery and a PT3 or Aspire. But I am curious about a few other options. What is a "clone?" or a "dripper?" What other devices might be out there that would be recommended?

Also, What batteries, if I go for an ego battery, would be recommended? On tanks, I have done enough research, so I am good there, but in terms of batteries, I have done little to no research. VV would be nice, but not mandatory, just something over 1000 Mah.

you have a lot of choices, just depends on how much you want to spend.
cheap Option: Vamo V5, Aerotank, 2x 18350 batteries
expensive Option: Provari V 2.5 batteries depends of what provari (mini or regular) with an Aerotank. (based on my own experience i tottaly recomend you a provari, nice customer service, warranty and those pv's ar indestructible)

First of all, I would recommend switching to the 510 connection. The biggest problem with your current setup is that it's kr808 threaded, while the 510 has become an almost universal connection.

There are many options in the wonderful world of 510 connection--depending on price and technological advancements: :)

1) eGo-class batteries, similar to what you have now. I'd recommend a variable voltage battery, like eGo-C Twist, Vision Spinner, Kanger eVod etc.

2) MVP2 (box shaped, 2600 mAh, ohms reader, vv/vw, works as a passthrough) or its little sister the Innokin VV V3 (only 700 mAh but otherwise idintical to the MVP).

3) Tube mods with replaceable batteries--more power, more money, big and heavy. I own a Sigelei Zmax mini and a ProVari.

4) DNA mods--small boxes with plenty of power (up to 40 watts). The most expensive of the bunch--and the most advanced.

I'd say go with #1 or #2. The MVP2 is great--but the new MVP3 is about to be released--you may want to wait a bit.

Toppers--I don't like top coils. Period. Don't buy ProTank 3--it has no air flow control. If you want a dual-coil Kanger topper, get the Aerotank. Kanger makes good clearomizers. Aspire is very popular also--I prefer Kangers--they are cheaper, the coils are easy to clean and dry burn. YMMV

Dripping is a different story.
