I've been lurking these forums for some time now and have gathered a lot of very helpful information. Also, until recently, I've been 100% off regular cigarettes and just vaping for about 3 months. My NJoy NCig's batteries both bit the dust and only carry a charge for an hour or so. While I am going to contact NJoy to see if the batteries are still under warranty, I've wanted to get a new e-cig anyway. Plus, I imagine it'd be good to have one on backup.

This is what I'm looking for in my new e-cig:
1) Penstyle (I've tried minis, and prefer the penstyle)
2) Option for USB passthrough.
3) Ability to refill carts.
4) Availability of replacement parts at a reasonable price.
5) Good amount of vapor.
6) Good throat hit. This is the big one for me.

Also, as a bonus, if I could use my old NJoy NCig carts with it, that'd be a huge plus for me, as I still have quit a few of them left.

Other than that, I had a few maintainence questions I wasn't able to find the answers for.

1) I know that it's bad to let an atomiser dry up. So if I have one e-cig that I use daily and one that's purely for backup purposes, what maintainence should I do to ensure that nothing bad happens to my backup e-cig?

2) Would I be better off just getting backup atomizer(s)/batteries instead of a backup ecig? And if so, what should I do to make sure they stay in good shape.

Basically, I don't ever want to be in the situation I'm in now. That is, smoking regular cigarettes while I stare at my broken e-cig.

I'd also like to apologize if these questions were answered elsewhere in the forums. I'm a bit new to all this and appreciate any help. Thanks!

Do you know if they are compatible with the cartridges from my penstyle NJoy NCig? They look the same, but I thought the 901 was considered a mini? Or at least, that's what it says in the 901 review in the review section of this site.

Also, do you have a brand recommendation? I'm going to keep browsing the review section of this site, but I'd be interested in which brand you bought.

Any 801 penstyle would work well. They would be fully compatible with your NJoy and much cheaper if purchased out of china directly.

I have ordered there several times and have never had an issue. I typically receive my shipments in about 8 - 10 days. If you have an issue with ordering from China then see this thread for a list of US suppliers:

Most any 801 penstyle you get is that same as any other...

The Ncig is an 801 penstyle unit. It's not compatable at all with the 901 units.
Call Njoy, they'll be glad to replace your batteries. That's the main reason for the heavy price.

Don't worry so much about brands, unless you want a warranty. A 901 is pretty much a 901 no matter where you buy it from. It really comes down to a few choices. You can buy cheap from China with almost no warranty, you can pay a little more to a domestic supplier, get it quicker and get a better warranty, or you can go with one of the more expensive branded places and get a long warranty. I've gone all three routes in a very short period of time with an Njoy, a 901 from e-smokeytreats, and an order from Heaven's gifts.

My first e-cig was a super mini (npro) and the main reason I got hooked on the penstyle was the fact that the battery lasted much longer.

Also, with my penstyle I could use it a lot longer before it got that metallic taste. I'm a software engineer, so I tend to just randomly pull on it all day while coding. This of course the biggest advantage to vaping for me, as I used to just have a lit smoke in my mouth all day without even actively smoking it. :/

I wish there was some kind of big compatibility matrix that would just show what works with what.

So, I guess I'm leaning toward getting an 801, though I might try a 901 for kicks. Now it's just a matter of selecting the correct supplier.

Also, can anyone point me in the direction of information about the maintenance for backup parts?

I was actually just in the review section looking at the screwdriver. It seems awesome, but it also seems like it only works with 901s. Yet another thing to look into.

Anyway, I'm 99% sure I'm going to get an 801 for now and a 901 at some point in the future to see if I like it or not. Now I just need to make up my mind on a retailer. I want to lean away from the expensive upfront cost like NJoy. I just went with them at first because I didn't know anything and you see the brand name all the time.

I want to go with someone cheaper but still fairly reputable. I don't want any DOA equipment and the like, but I don't need a warranty if I can just buy replacement parts.
