Advice on keeping your gear in tip top condition

Think i might of burnt out a Alantis coil yesterday, still not sure. I stuck my tank in cup of hot water for 20 mins with 1 or 2 drops of washing up liquid. Then i dried burn the coil.

When assembling my tank and topping up with new juice i got a horrible burnt taste so i just swapped it out and put a new coil in. At the moment i only got 1 sub ohm tank and i i got a selection of juices. I do intend to get another sub set up waiting on ZNA 50 as i type this. But this going to take time as i went for the cheapest option ie fast tech.

Does anyone know how long the coils for Alantis tanks are suppose to last ? and the best way to keep them clean when swapping out juices ?

Any advice would be really helpful.

Never tried an atlantis but it's a widely loved and popular tank so I bet there's all sorts of stuff on youtube about rebuilding those coils, I'd imagine you would remove the wick, rinse it good along with the coil, let it all dry, dry burn coil, insert wick? Should get you going again. As for mods, clean your threads and contacts with rubbing alcohol once every week or two, eventually you'll probably want to use some brasso or some such thing to remove tarnish from threads and contacts as well. If you really wanna get fancy you can buy an ultrasonic cleaner and some denture tablets for cleaning your atlantis or other attys, for regular cleaning probably nothing beats that, super deep clean and safe for your gear. Also you might want to look into rebuildables, everyones opinion is different on this but anything that requires stock coils was always unreliable to me, generally a headache and way too expensive. Once you figure out how to rebuild, in my experience, it's easier to deal with and costs next to nothing, and no matter what you're using, as long as you got some wire and cotton you're set. I use the same coils and wicks for months at a time, just rinsing and dry burning.

You can reuse the original coil and rebuild it with cotton, takes the same time as it does to do a single coil build in a rda unless you want dismantle it completely. This is what i have done since getting the Atlantis until I get the new cotton blister packs available at MFS. The old wicking material gives a better fluid retention with the ceramic papers absorbancy and strangely, I can't vape the cotton wrapped coil much over 22-25 watts on the rebuilds I've done..I suspect the small coil area/wick ratio is the cause of the issue and plan to build my own coils for what is basically a good tank with small capacity, unfortunately.
