hey guys just wanted to see if anyone could help me
im looking at getting a mech mod, have only really used regulated ones so far.
what i want to get out of it is clouds (i know other factors effect this but thats what im after)
from what ive heard ill be looking for a copper mod, with a magnetic switch and copper connections. if im wrong please correct me. was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? ive been looking at clones alot, but im in no rush to get this so i can save and really dont mind paying extra if its gonna be worth the money, just keep in mind im no rich man haha.
another thing im looking at is a new rda, i already own a velocity rda clone, i brought it just to see if i liked dripping, and its fair to say ive fallen in love with it. i want to get a decent one, again for clouds, but obviously want flavour as well, want some awesome airflow and would prefer if it has larger post holes, as i enjoy making super sub ohm builds and using crazy twisted, claptoned, etc, builds.
thanks guys and gals :)

If you're going to be using those wire heavy builds your better off with a high wattage regulated. Just my :2c:
+1

Those crazy coils didnt exist before 50-60+ watt box mods did.

You can get plenty of clouds running mechs but it has to be done with more standard coilings.

I hate to say it since I love my mechs, but that Velocity on a high wattage regulated device will blow pretty much any mechanical setup out of the water. The idea of needing a mech for clouds expired a couple years ago. Prior to that, the only way to sub ohm was a mechanical mod.

Also, in my experience, mechanicals aren't the best for crazy builds like claptons due to the lack of a chip boosting the ramp up.

Now, that being said, to answer your question:

already have an x cube 2 coming so i have a high wattage regulated, might look into the twisted messes rda as i know a couple of people who have one and absolutely swear by them

I love my Stingray Xs. But my Claptoned Velocity is on an istick 100W, and there's a reason.

Most of my mechs are actually topped with tootle attys and dual coil ones that have small decks and airflow.
still interested in getting a mech, might just have to add another smaller atty to my collection, or do u thing running a 24g dual parallel (as an example) macro coil in the velocity on the stingray would be a bit of a waste?

I haven't tried 24g, but the ramp up time might be faster than my 26/32 Claptons. I did not like the ramp up time with my Claptons at all. Now others here said they love their Claptons on mechs, but I sure didn't. I also do vape mostly RTAs over RDAs so obviously others have more RDA experience than I do.

I'm going to also try making some 28/34 Clapton wire and that may be the ticket for getting the vape I want on a single battery mech. I'm also thinking they will be an easier fit in a cramped RTA deck.

However, I can take one of my tootle attys, build it to about 0.55 for duals and 0.65 for singles and get a really nice vape on a mech down to 3.5v or so on the battery. So this formula works well for me using mechs without constantly wanting to change out my batteries. But, the big gun attys like the Velocity or Aromamizers or Cthulhu I prefer regulated for sure.
